Anyone familiar with Barbican area of London?

I’m graduating at the Barbican Centre next month. I’m going with my parents, and it’s on a Tuesday afternoon.

We’d like to go somewhere nice (but not pretentious or fine dining) for food, and then to a good pub quiz. We are staying right next to the Barbican Centre. Any recommendations? TIA.

there are nice restaurants on Whitecross st which is v close (e.g. Korean BBQ). No idea on pub quizzes - it is mostly a district of offices rather than homes so you might not find a local pub of that type.

Brutto in Farringdon for food, not sure about quizzes

Loads of places up into Spitalfields market. What sort of food are you after?

Bubala on Commercial Street is lovely and about a 15 minute walk. If you like sushi Pham is about 5 mins and really good too.
