When was the last time you properly belly laughed?

I genuinely can't remember the last time I laughed so hard until I couldn't breathe. Life has become so dull and serious 😞

If you want a 'really good, wiping tears from your eyes' laugh go to Mumsnet Classics and look for the thread,
I bought a white coat in the sales to look like Olivia Pope, but I actually resemble a middle aged taekwando instructor.
A week later I am still randomly laughing about 'Suzi Quatros Fat Aunt, and 'Bloody hell it's Colonel Gadaffi'😆😆😆

stepkidscopingstrategy · 08/02/2023 21:11

@thefactsarefriendly this made me LOL! I can just imagine me and DH having this kind of convo too

catinboots123 · 08/02/2023 21:19

Everyday - multiple times. But my colleague is my best mate and we work in the most bonkers of bonkerest jobs.

Ahhh @Shunkleisshiny it was Suzi Quatro's Fat Nan wasn't it? Laughed myself silly at that.

DP makes me laugh a lot. He's very tired today and was just singing the Mission Impossible theme while trying to take his socks off.

LindorDoubleChoc · 08/02/2023 21:32

12th January 2023.

Shunkleisshiny · 08/02/2023 21:40

Fat Nan yes!!! When I was reading the thread, I was laughing crying, my nose was running and DH was looking at me like what is wrong with you?
Also 'Hissing Sid swallowed a plate'😂

Last week at a thread on here where someone thought that Barry was a short version of Barold.

I have no idea why I found this so funny, but it made me weep (yes, really)

Thank you for this 😂😂😂😂😂

Jewelanemone · 08/02/2023 21:56

Laugh until I cry regularly with my work colleague, my mum and also with my husband.

However there's one occasion that particularly sticks in my mind. Husband and I sitting in the car overlooking a beach in Cornwall. Both drinking hot chocolate from lidded insulated mugs (it was winter). Said mugs have complicated lids involving o-rings to give a good seal. Remember this for later.

Husband decides to give his mug a shake. Husband and husband's side of car immediately and thoroughly covered with hot liquid. I am trying very, very hard not to laugh as husband is in a massive huff. He wipes the chocolate up then examines the lid of his mug. I managed to keep a straight face through all of this until he uttered the words 'The ring was puckered.' It was the word 'puckered' that did it. Makes me laugh even now, but husband still is unable to see the funny side (he was unhurt by the incident but there is still a brown stain on his seat 😆).

cakewitch · 08/02/2023 21:56

At work last week. My bosses wife was gently taking the piss out of him , and it tickled me so much I laughed so much, that I cried.

BadClown · 08/02/2023 21:56

Tonight. Put DS to bed and blew a raspberry on his neck. He asked for a second hug (to retaliate) so I turned the lights off, ran out and hid. He cased me into the hall and I jumped out at him. He messed around until I let him blow a raspberry back. Sounds so stupid when I wrote it down, but he has additional needs and it’s been really hard with him recently, I just feel like I tell him off all the time. So it was lovely to have that with him right before bed 🥰

Shunkleisshiny · 08/02/2023 22:01

Grrrrrrr! I have tried but it won't bring up the url so I can link it, whether it's because I am on Kindle Fire or because it's an old thread I don't know.

Tbf, there are loads of hilarious threads on there, such as 'Can I Make Shrew Ice Cream' and 'He's Just Eaten A Fat Ball' it's worth googling Mumsnet Classic and go from there.
It will cheer you up no end!

JennieMassie · 08/02/2023 22:05

Watching Lee Mack on WILTY doing his bit about milking a cow... Couldn't breathe from laughing so much 🤣😂

goldennotyetoldie · 08/02/2023 22:05

This. This made me laugh. And then snort. Then laugh some more.

I can watch it on repeat and it still
Has the same effect.

LtdEdition01 · 08/02/2023 22:09

BadClown ·
that’s lovely

DD and I regularly get the giggles over silly things …
One day I parked outside the front of our house, got out of the car and as I turned I slipped on the kerb and just fell headlong into a huge Rosemary bush narrowly missing the tap on the wall and two plant pots… she was helping me up and we were both laughing so much her ribs were hurting and I couldn’t breathe… weeks later we still laugh about it when she repeats how I just disappeared into the bushes!

soboredtonight · 08/02/2023 22:13

Tonight with my mum and dad. They are really funny together.

MrsAvocet · 08/02/2023 22:27

Over dinner tonight when DH was recalling an embarrassing moment from his childhood. I have heard it many times before but he tells it extremely well and I always laugh til I cry despite knowing exactly what is coming next!

This is the Suzi Quatro's fat nan thread mentioned earlier. It's brilliant!

hellobethyname · 08/02/2023 22:29

I can't find Suzie Quattros fat nan if anyone else can ....?

Menopausecankissmyass · 08/02/2023 22:39

A few days ago with DH and DD - we were talking about The Sausage Dog Olympics and were making up events like the Long Jump, High Jump and my personal favourite the Pole Vault. We laughed so much we were struggling to breath
I think you had to be there 😂

whirlyswirly · 08/02/2023 22:42

Virtually every day with dp. He is the funniest person I know.

Every day at work. I'm in a fairly serious job but I seem to also have ridiculous incidents on a regular basis that make others laugh.

Saturday night after, I inadvertently chose Good Luck Leo Grande to watch with my partner and his 80-something year old mother.

It was like a slow moving, giggle-stifling, 90-minute car crash...

ItisallPooh · 08/02/2023 23:33

My dd looked really confused when we turned on the golf earlier. She has been on a golf course. She has also been to crazy golf.
She thought there was no obstacles on the golf course because she was just learning. She genuinely thought that professional golfers were hitting balls through windmills etc. I can sort of see her point of view but it just cracked me up!

MrsMarkRonson · 08/02/2023 23:54

A response to a thread here yesterday (the friend ick one) had me laughing hard - unfortunately I was on the train. Also there's a ad on the radio that is two dogs called r Rufus and Daisy talking. The man that is Rufus sooooo funny, has such a funny voice. Good thing I only listen to the radio at home.
