For me best: Steve as boyfriend, Anthony as best friend!

Worst: Burger!

Oh who was the guy Miranda dated before she ended up with Steve? The hot neighbour? He was nice too.

Robert. Although he was a dick too when he pressured her to answer about the cookie and what it said and when he mocked her on the stairs "oh Robert no ones been in me this deep..."

I absolutely adore Harry. He's kind, intelligent and sweet and absolutely dotes on Charlotte. That scene where they have a fight and he says yes I know what people think when they see us together! I didn't think you were one of them.. broke my heart!

Fedupwitheveryone · 05/02/2023 20:49

My opinions here will be unpopular - tongue in cheek (somewhat) I do see their flaws.

  1. Robert the hot doctor was a lot more exciting than Steve.

  2. Loved Mr Big, still have a thing for that (stereo)type

  3. Didn't hate Petrovsky the way everyone else did. He had something about him.

Richard definitely one of the dodgier ones. I can't believe the script writers made Samantha throw that fabulous canary diamond ring back at him. Madness!

StanFransDisco · 05/02/2023 20:53

@Fedupwitheveryone petrovsky was completely up front and honest about who he was from day one. Didn't enjoy him as a character but I admired that about him at least.

Fedupwitheveryone · 05/02/2023 20:56

@StanFransDisco I wonder if maybe as he came just at the end that the characters and writing had become more sophisticated, and he was a great actor - the character was very believable and felt more real to me than the others.

StanFransDisco · 05/02/2023 21:00

@Fedupwitheveryone that's a good point.. I hadn't thought about it from the point of view of the writing..Blush

Summerhillsquare · 05/02/2023 21:02

Smith was the best, swoooon.

lemons44 · 05/02/2023 21:15

All the comments about Harry... can we also just remember THAT scene in Just Like That.... 😳🫣

Oh Robert yes! Mr Big was so hot too.
Worst ... so many, hard to choose one.
My controversial one ... didn't really see the appeal with Aiden, he was a bit of a wet blanket.
Gosh I loved that show!

beansmeanz · 05/02/2023 21:35

For goodness sake - Aidan is the best and that is that 😁

hiyaKen · 05/02/2023 22:14

Remember Jon Bon Jovi? She met him st the shrinks

I'm fairly sure they all had their issues! Grin

Harry was mostly good. I never got the love for Steve. I felt like he was there to remind us that being keen on your career is unfeminine. Aidan was a total dick and so was Berger. The scrunchie thing was awful, but so well observed.

I think if we're being equal opportunities we should also rate Maria. That storyline was hilarious and I remember my lovely friend being very invested in it (we were 17!). But ... the plate-smashing was a bit scary, wasn't it?!

I think Miranda loved Steve because he was so different to her, sortof the positive optimist that's she's not. Did you watch the spin off?

Aidan was a dick and a control freak

He was the worst. Do as I tell you or we're finished. Dick.

beansmeanz · 06/02/2023 14:54

Carrie (as much as I love the character) was a spoilt selfish brat.

beansmeanz · 06/02/2023 14:55

Steve was lovely. And Harry.

Absolutely agree. And wanted her to he affectionate, romantic at times convenient to him, not her and then kicking off she pulled back. Awful man, made me skin crawl.

Minteraye · 06/02/2023 14:59

SarahAndQuack · 05/02/2023 19:52

He never seemed to actually like Carrie, but just to find fault with her. He kept pushing her to do things - be a non-smoker, be more outdoorsy, be keen to get married - and made her feel guilty when she didn't want to.

Yep, agree about Aiden (my phone is pushing me to write about ‘Auden’ as welll🤣), he was low key smug and controlling, but with an irritating ‘I’m such a nice guy I must be right’ condescending geography teacher vibe.

JaneJeffer · 06/02/2023 15:30

I liked Steve until he cheated Angry

SylvanianFrenemies · 06/02/2023 15:36

Harry and Smith were the only 2 half decent ones.
Aiden - passive aggressive and manipulative.
Big - selfish dickhead
Trey - ditto
Berger - whiny manchild
Richard - another dick

SylvanianFrenemies · 06/02/2023 15:37

Also, Steve - started well. Ended badly.

Grigorisangel · 06/02/2023 15:59

Aidan was definitely a controlling dick but I still thought he was the best. All these years later I can still remember the episode where she goes to his bar opening and sees him across the room. It always made me swoon 😁

SOWK · 06/02/2023 16:04

Best - Harry
worst - Aiden - for spending his whole time to trying to change Carrie and making her feel shit about herself

SOWK · 06/02/2023 16:08

Minteraye · 06/02/2023 14:59

100% this. He always seemed likely to turn into an emotional abuser, using coercive control to turn Carrie into the suburban housewife he wanted, whilst convincing the world that he was a good guy.
