For me best: Steve as boyfriend, Anthony as best friend!

Worst: Burger!

Berger and Alexander so terrible for Carrie

Carrie such a PITA though, watching it years later

Harry such a sweetheart

Whatineed · 05/02/2023 20:02

The best potential boyfriend for Miranda was the sexy cop guy that she got too drunk for because she thought she wasn't good enough for him.

She should've called him the next day, explained her insecurities and why she got drunk, then ignored all the looks he got and stuck with him.

Creamcrackersandricecakes · 05/02/2023 20:02

Best: Harry - such a bloody lovely guy and his utter adoration of Charlotte is so gorgeous

Worst: Berger - horrible, rude, insecure prick

Aiden was the worst - so smug and judgey and coercive about the engagement. Ugh.

All the men were pretty terrible, except Harry. Although Harry was a twat to break up with Charlotte because she (quite rightly) got fed up with him dangling a proposal. Still, I guess it’s just the kind of terrible drama writing that was popular in the 90s / 00s.

I had a crush on Burger, but he’d be a nightmare. I used to have a thing for troubled fictional men. I’ve grown out of it.

JaneJeffer · 05/02/2023 20:04

Aidan - worst
Harry - best

Love the typos Burger and Mr. Bug Grin

I didn't like Maria. I thought they didn't portray that storyline very well and made it out like Maria just wanting to "talk" and find a deeper connection an exclusive thing for women-women relationships. They stereotyped women .

I agree ... but I suppose it was quite revolutionary to do anything at all like that, in (was it?) 2002 or so.

I still remember my friend arguing really clearly that it would make total sense for Samantha to turn out to be a lesbian, as she never really connected emotionally to men, and I do think there's an alternate universe where that storyline works much better.

It was a bit racist, too, wasn't it? A woman from an ethnic minority who gets angry and smashes plates?!

JaneJeffer · 05/02/2023 20:07

Anthony is great, so funny.

TheLeadbetterLife · 05/02/2023 20:07

Oh Smith. He was good too. He and Harry are the good ones.

Lapland123 · 05/02/2023 20:09

Ah Smith, how could I forget. How he brightened up the noughties!

CandleInTheStorm · 05/02/2023 20:11

Trey wasn't too bad, just his mother! It was unfortunate he couldn't have kids.

@TheLeadbetterLife I agree. I found Aidan really manipulative

HelterSkelter224 · 05/02/2023 20:14

Steve and Stanford are the only good men in the show.

People love Aidan but actually he was a controlling, gaslighting, condescending prick.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 05/02/2023 20:15

I also found Aiden to be a controlling, manipulative dick. And his phrases made my skin crawl. Awful man.

Best: Smith, Harry, Dr Robert, Big (he never his who he was and his limitations).

Worst: Aiden, The Russian, Berger.

Steve is just blah.

toomanycoffees · 05/02/2023 20:17

Aidan and Franklyn the podcast guy in Just Like That. Wow!

x2boys · 05/02/2023 20:20

ComfortablyDazed · 05/02/2023 19:46

Mr Big hot? He made my skin crawl.

I had the box set of sex and the city ,Mr Big was supposed to be the next big thing in the city ,the next Donald Trump.I'm not surprised he made your skin crawl😂

FunnyItWorkedLastTime · 05/02/2023 20:20

Smith was great. Harry was lovely husband material but not exactly eye candy. Aidan was awful.

Was there anything wrong with Miranda's "good on paper" doctor? I think I'd have been happy to take him off her hands - or did he get nasty when she ditched him?

Lapland123 · 05/02/2023 20:20

Aidan’s only good point was his excellent carpentry/ diy.

Trey wasn't too bad, just his mother! It was unfortunate he couldn't have kids.

Charlotte did incredibly well.out of Trey with that amazing apartment despite a very short lived marriage .

anomaly23 · 05/02/2023 20:25

I hated Berger, Richard and Aiden (I thought he was quite controlling) the politician (the guy who wanted her to pee on him) and Alexander.

Best was Ben (was he a teacher) and the guy who played tag in friends.

anomaly23 · 05/02/2023 20:25

Richard was Samantha's boyfriend

anomaly23 · 05/02/2023 20:25

Best was smith and Harry for Charlotte and Samantha

CandleInTheStorm · 05/02/2023 20:11

Trey wasn't too bad, just his mother! It was unfortunate he couldn't have kids.

I am kind of also on Trey's side (despite the really weird porn thing) because I remember seeing an interview with the actor where he was very funny and quite happy to make himself the butt of the joke.

Titsywoo · 05/02/2023 20:29

Smith, Harry and Steve were the best

Berger and Alexander were the worst

Carrie wasn't the best judge of character clearly!

When you think from meeting to divorce, it all happened in about 18 months! I know it was tv world, but most couples don't even get engaged until 18 months, let alone marry, separate, have fertility treatment, and divorce. A multi-million dollar apartment in Park Avenue was way more than she should have gotten in reality for such a short marriage, and you can sort of see why Bunny was trying to keep it!

Oh who was the guy Miranda dated before she ended up with Steve? The hot neighbour? He was nice too.
