Jack Monroe flounced from Twitter - Again

This time it looks like she was caught out in regard to addiction faking.

She posted a photo claiming they were of her recovery chip thingies and it was noted that 1 of them was for Cocaine Anonymous and another was for Narcotics anonymous.

She'd denied cocaine use earlier.

Early January she was in the Guardian saying she'd blown to s of donated money on Drink, tramadol and Cotswolds sideboards.
Seems the oddities of her stories are catching up with her.

Curious case of honest mistakes of someone who does good?
Or a devious chancer that's raking in as much as 30k a month of other people's money for doing nothing?

What is her actual job?

I believe she was diagnosed privately for ADHD. She certainly mentioned paying for a private prescription for it in the past.

Then you would ask someone else to help you.

It would save you hundreds of pounds and you wouldn't be unscrewing light bulbs and boiling soap.

You also wouldn't be worrying about the price of broken rice as you could afford to eat other foods with with the new found savings.

Its neglectful to her child to live without light and be subjected to shitty food due to mum not sorting out one form.

She has loads of people helping her, she has had very wealthy partners and she could also get her arse down to Citizens Advice where they have people who will help you fill out forms.

Loads of people with disabilities and who are not NT manage to do these things. And if they struggle then people around them help.

Are you telling me that no one offered to help fill out that form after thinking "Jack, why are you so broke again?, Let's go through your finances and see whats going wrong"

She tried to grift and she got caught out.

Im not sticking up for Jack cos i dont know the full extent of her behaviour. But im telling you that as someone with ADHD i would not ask for help, there is not a hope in hell i would make the appointment for, or even remember it weeks later to go the citizens advice to get forms filled in. Even if by some miracle i did, i would have lost the forms by then.

This is why it's so difficult to manage. The thought process is ... i need a prescription. This is an over riding need.. pay for prescription which is more expensive, as you pay for the prescription you type a little note onto your many lists on your phone to 'sort prescription form' next month when collecting the prescription you do the exact same and so on and so on.

Poor financial management and excessive spending/alcohol use are all key characteristics of ADHD.

I dont boil soap, though and im not vegan one week then not the next. Im consistant in my poor eating habits.

Budget cook/recipe creator. She has books.

She has asked for help though, for money.

She doesn't seem to use your thought process, I need food and I have money in the bank so I will buy the food.

She feigned poverty and spends her money on alcohol and designer gear.

She was the one who mentioned the expensive prescriptions aswell.

She puts things out there to get more sympathy. No im not buying it.

I have helped so many people who were lost and struggling, they wouldn't ask for help. They would keep to themselves but you could tell they needed help.

So when you dug into the situation you could see they weren't getting everything they were entitled to because they were just plodding along.

So I recognise genuine cases of mental health causing you to neglect yourself.

Its not the case with this one.

If she was happy to share her medication with twitter are you telling me that she never spoke to someone in real life about it and they never said what are you doing spending all that money on prescriptions.

Never heard of anyone being prescribed both mirtazapine and sertraline. It's one of the other. I don't know most of the others she's listed but that particular claim is bollocks

I wish people would lay off her. Shes mentally fragile and constant picking apart of everythung shes ever said or done is bullying. Shes had suicide attempts over it, so how about remembering that she is a human being and clearly vulnerable. Why the fuck are people gleefully obsessing. Bullying

It's very difficult to know the truth when so much of what she says turns out to be false.

I have never had to fill in the prepayment form. The pharmacy does it online on their system. I’m not sure why everyone thinks she’s telling the truth about not having one. She probably does and just exaggerated when she said it costs her a fortune for her prescriptions. She’s clearly unwell, but clearly also tells a lot of untruths and spends unwisely. I hope she stays off social media and gets help.

I think that it is worth pointing out that she is not the resident parent - her son stays 1 night a week, and it’s suspected the dog is also part of that arrangement. So whether it’s the truth about unscrewing lightbulbs or not, her son is not living in her home all the time.

I agree with this. The level of obsession with her comes across as a bit sad. There are other far more toxic influencers and media personalities who get away without too much criticism. She clearly has struggles with her MH. Whatever else she’s done she got people talking about the awful food poverty in the U.K. She did run a successful campaign. I think you can still be well off and run campaigns highlighting the plight of those in poverty. It’s better than being rich and doing nothing. Gary Stevenson is a good example.

You literally only "know" any of this because of the things she has said. So it's hardly wrong to question it when the things she's said directly contradict the other things she's said.

To frame "holding someone to account when they are taking money from people" as bullying shows you've clearly fallen for the grifter tactics.

I do wonder why the obsession with her.

She’s only ‘mentally fragile’ when she is getting criticism. She will be back to living her best life soon don’t worry.
She 100% weaponises suicide. Having lost 2 important young people to me this way, I think she’s abhorrent.

How are you measuring success? What changed? The main criticism apart from the lying is that there is a lot of blather but nothing concrete. In fact she argues that people can live on £20 a week food bill, which in my view is harmful.

If I had ADHD and I saw someone like Jack using it as an excuse to avoid criticism and to excuse their behaviour, I'd be furious.
Same as Autistic people, everytime she uses autism to avoid any scrutiny or lies and says she literally can't lie, of I had autism and had just seen someone tell 550k people misinformation about autism, I'd be furious.

Let's not forget that she's also claimed to be disabled and arthritic, which flares up when people ask questions of her... days later she claims she walks a big 9 month old dog for several hours Daily.

ADHD, autism, disabled, arthritis etc. They only come to the fore when she needs a distraction and to garner sympathy.

The more people exposing the lying con artist and making more people aware of the grift, the better.

What happened to Awfully Molly? Website and Twitter both vanished a week or so ago.

Very strange situation there! First the real name reveal and back story, then everything gone. She said it was nothing to do with pressure from lawyers, just said she didn’t want to do it any more. Fair enough, but why not leave the blog up? Why collate all the evidence then scarper?

Awfully Molly got loads of abuse, real abuse, and people threatening to doxx her so she left Twitter. Her work was done in any case.

I am no defender of Jack, but to correct something up above, you certainly can have both sertraline and mirtazapine prescribed. I do. It's quite common if first line treatment doesn't work or if you have serious sleep issues.

I do wonder if she would be attacked like this if she was a man, or say a tory politician who in my book rob and scam and cause much more damage to poor people than some budget recipes ever did.
I do think shes genuinely unwell and when unwell, people do things that don't make sense to NT people and those who dont suffer with mental illness. I actually hope she isnt mixing those medications with tramadol.
