Best west end show for ds and I?

DS3 is going to be 9 soon and I’d like to take him to one of the big shows in London. We’ve seen The Lion King when it was on tour and loved that. He’s a very feely type and as well as the spectacle of musical theatre I know he’d love something with a bit more of an emotional pull.

Any recommendations?

We saw Back to the Future for my birthday last year and it was awesome. School of Rock is one to look out for in the future (think it’s stopped touring) that was wonderful and a bit emotional too.

Is the one with Queen music still on, or School of Rock. My son loved both of those when he was young

No, neither are currently on although We Will Rock You is having a limited run at the Coliseum later in the year.

I took DS to Lion King last year and he was transfixed. I then took him to Mary Poppins & Matilda, both of which he found quite boring. He did enjoy The Play That Goes Wrong.
I think the Lion King is so creative with the set & costumes that something based in a house/street or a school just didn't come close. The songs don't have that drumming beat which fills the theatre either.

I didn’t even know back to the future had been adapted for stage! My mind is boggling at how it works!

It's genuinely staggering!! There are times where it feels like you're all travelling through time and the special effects are all around the theatre. There's also a huge special ending which is quite spectacular
