I am.

Can’t really afford to be on strike, but also can’t afford not to.

mrsbrownhat · 31/01/2023 18:34

Me. Civil servant and have had enough.

soboredtonight · 31/01/2023 18:35

EcoCustard · 31/01/2023 18:36

Power to your elbows!

StarDanced · 31/01/2023 18:38

FourEyesGood · 31/01/2023 19:04

My union didn’t vote for strikes (I did!) so I’m not allowed to strike - but I fully support everyone striking. ✊

sittingonacornflake · 31/01/2023 19:09

Not a teacher. A parent of a school aged child. I fully support you. I hope you get the outcome you are after.

CactusFlowers · 31/01/2023 19:42

Not many of us so far considering the news reckons up to half a million.

Likewise. "Deeds not words."

RedVanYellowVan · 31/01/2023 19:52

Fortunately, my little neighbour's teacher. I'm looking forward to having him round for a couple of hours while his mum is working, he's good company. I fully support the strikes and am pleased to be able to help out a bit.

Moonshine86 · 31/01/2023 19:53

I am. Solidarity!

tinytemper66 · 31/01/2023 19:54

Me. Going to a rally near me. Up the workers!

treenu · 31/01/2023 19:55

Me too! Can't afford to but can't afford not to.

I worry for my children at secondary school in the next few years. No one can recruit teachers.

Every school in the county advertising for maths teachers.

Solidarity with all of you.

Twiglets1 · 31/01/2023 19:57

I'm a TA so can't strike as we didn't reach the 50% threshold.
But I voted to strike and support 100% my teacher colleagues.

notprincehamlet · 31/01/2023 19:58

Can’t really afford to be on strike, but also can’t afford not to
Same here

Pinkflipflop85 · 31/01/2023 19:59

Me!

20/21 teachers in our school are striking.

Pinkflipflop85 · 31/01/2023 20:00

The one who isn't is in a different union.

BitOutOfPractice · 31/01/2023 20:00

just wanted to come on and offer support for all who are striking.

gogohmm · 31/01/2023 20:01

No - don't believe in unions. wages have to be funded and some of us can't afford to pay any more taxes. Many of those striking gave far higher wages than us in the the non profit sector also doing vital roles

BobBobBobbing · 31/01/2023 20:03

Me.

Most of my colleagues are off, even those who have worked through strikes in the past. Everyone is at breaking point.

Perfect28 · 31/01/2023 20:05

That is exactly my argument too. I can't afford to not do this. So out we go...

wouldukissafrog · 31/01/2023 20:06

I have a primary age DD - just here showing support whatever your choice Thankyou for your wonderful work and care of our children

halfthesun · 31/01/2023 20:08

Me. Teacher in Brighton and Hove. We were also told that class sizes will be increasing due to budget constraints.

Theimpossiblegirl · 31/01/2023 20:09

I'm striking.
I'm a teacher and I'm also a tax payer. They're not separate things.
I can't afford the loss of income but I can't afford to keep working the hours I work for the money I get. It's not fair and the children are being let down by a shitty Government.
