I am.

Can’t really afford to be on strike, but also can’t afford not to.

Me. 8 other teachers at my school striking too, going to our local demo at lunchtime

Elsanore · 31/01/2023 20:11

Not a teacher anymore (burnt out) otherwise I would be. All my teacher mates are, and DH.
Thank you to all striking. Solidarity 💪🏼

tillyrainbow · 31/01/2023 20:12

Nope but wish I was, a public sector worker but not striking (watch this space though!)

Solidarity to all who are striking.

storminabuttercup · 31/01/2023 20:13

I'm not, not in a role that is but absolutely support you all who are.

EssexCat · 31/01/2023 20:14

I’m not as my role in education isn’t teaching. I would 100% be if my union had voted for it.

Cascais · 31/01/2023 20:15

No

Me!

DJSteves · 31/01/2023 20:18

Yep I'm off to a rally. Sending support to all of the fellow strikers and thanks for the support. 22 years in the job and something has to change!

Alwaysworryingoversomething · 31/01/2023 20:19

Me! University worker.

crocusfocus · 31/01/2023 20:19

I support nurses, doctors, firefighters, paramedics and teachers who need to strike

I do not support the RMT

Confuzzlediddled · 31/01/2023 20:22

Me, civil servant

MrsMurphyIWish · 31/01/2023 20:22

Me! And I’m taking Yr 7 DD on the picket with me!

Skyliner1 · 31/01/2023 20:23

I'm not a teacher, although I trained to be. I support everyone who is striking though.

Dd1 is off tomorrow because of teacher strikes, but she's already missed days this year because they don't have enough teachers. How can schools function when they don't have enough teachers to teach all of the students?

MrsTerryPratchett · 31/01/2023 20:25

I'm not but SOLIDARITY sisters.

Ironfloor269 · 31/01/2023 20:27

I'm not because my role in education is not teaching. But I'm 100% supportive of the strikes. I wish I could join my teacher colleagues to show solidarity though.

I'm not sure how it works but if us peripheral staff in education get a pay rise out of these strikes, I don't think it's fair. Why should those of us who didn't strike get a benefit out of those who sacrificed a day's wage?

I hope you do! We can only strike for ‘our pay’ but it is so much more than that. Support staff allow the school to function …at our school turnover for support staff Is about every 8 months and it affects the students EVERY time.
