Just finished HV and am now not wanting to let go of Sarah Lancashire! 👀

100% I finally finished it yesterday. Anything with Sarah Lancashire or Nicola Walker is always worth watching.

Yes it's tremendous; a great cast and wonderful acting. Don't miss it, start from the beginning because the story builds and spo do the characters.

It's much gentler (and funnier) than HV, no rapes and murders at all....

I love it but as with HV it takes me ages to watch an episode as I'm constantly pausing it to say "Where's that?... Ooh I recognise that road!... Oh look its such and such a place"

@Phos brilliant, a local! Can you please tell me which is the long road they drive up and down in the early series’, the long empty road with grassy moorland on either side, with a steep drop down to a reservoir or lake?

There is a murder actually

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 29/01/2023 19:55

Definitely! I just wish there were more series as good.,

Proseccoagain · 29/01/2023 20:03

Fantastic series, absolutely loved it

JKRfan · 29/01/2023 20:04

Yes absolutely.

AutisticLegoLover · 29/01/2023 20:05

Having just binged all 5 series I'd say hell yeah! It's brilliant.

I think I know where you mean. If we are thinking of the same bit, that is around the A672 going from a suburb called Rishworth out towards Lancashire. The reservoir is called Booth Wood.

EyesOnThePies · 29/01/2023 20:38

Thank you!

I am planning a camping week in the area in homage to the series’ set in and around Calderdale.

Phos · 29/01/2023 20:49

That sounds so much fun. Well feel free to get in touch if you need any advice!

I'm proud to say that Gillian's farm was my childhood home and my Dad still lives there. He met all the cast and said they were lovely.

Oh, that's amazing! And that your Dad's still there. Such a pretty location.

The actual house always came across in LTIH as having a real warmth to it (as in atmosphere/vitality...not Yorkshire temperatures!). Is that the case in real life?

GilliansFarm · 30/01/2023 06:40

The farm is in Rochdale and they only used the interior in season 1. After that they used a set in Manchester that was roughly the same. I just came back from a visit and it was really cold!
