Just cos I love these threads! So cosy and relaxing, thinking about all the people going about their different routines.

We are in Saturday morning swimming with all 3 kids - then it's DD1 family birthday party (she saw friends last week). We'll take grandparents to a child-friendly restaurant for lunch then back to ours for birthday cake and presents. Then try to tackle some of the horrendous mess that is our house!

What about you?

Had a lie in then spent a wasted few hours trying to get some errands done unsuccessfully.
Home for some lunch (beans on toast) and am now making myself walk ddog.
Once home I'll be having a shower, cross stitching and doing some washing, then taking DH to the train station for a night out.
Tonight I'll either be enjoying the peace and watching Happy Valley with a home cooked steak tea or drinking wine with a friend (am waiting to hear, she's having a hard time).

I love these threads too. So nosy!

Didn't get much sleep last night so we had a very lazy morning at home. The sort of day where breakfast merges into lunch. I nipped out to grab some bits from the shop and I've dragged myself out again now to take DS to the park, which is my idea of hell!

Then we'll get back home and back on the sofa until bedtime. Not a particularly interesting day! I might shake up some cocktails this evening so it feels more like the weekend.

Gym class at 8, then walk with my husband and dog followed by coffee in town.

Then a 3 hour bath and I’m about to have a snooze in bed while listening to dh chopping wood 🤨

Yes, we are temporary empty nesters and loving every minute.

Had a lie in, watched some TV with DD, and now I'm trying to figure out what cakes to make for her and DS's birthdays (why oh why do they have to have birthday so close to each other?? Poor planning on my part), and writing the shopping list for supermarket tomorrow.

Debating whether to go outside and shovel snow for a good workout or leave it for OH to do in the morning with the quadbike-snowplow monstrosity.

Might watch a film tonight with DD or just have an evening of reading, shall see which I prefer later on.

It isn't very glamorous but we've had a lie in, then DP took the dog out for a long walk while I stayed in bed with my book ( The Weather Woman by Sally Gardner).

Just had a bit of a light lunch together and DP's started a deep clean of the kitchen while I swan off for a shower and a sort of my desk. Once the kitchen's clean we're planning to reorganise it, go through the cupboards and have a rearrange. It's all well overdue so I'm looking forward to that feeling of it being all done and clean as a whistle.

I'll probably try and plan some meals from things that have lingered in the cupboard too long and make something for dinner later.

This evening we'll walk the dog again along the seafront and probably play some cards and get an early night as DP has work tomorrow and leaves at 5am usually. I need a couple of bits from M&S so will nip in there en route to the dog walk to pick those up (+the free load of bread from my sparks card!) and most likely be lured in a cake or two.

Bubble bath this evening for me, and more of my book. None of it hugely social or glamorous but there it is!

@ArtVandalay I know I shouldn't wish it away but my DC are 8 and almost 5yo twins.....I just had dinner interrupted as one of them had had a poo and then dropped the entire loo roll into the toilet on top it by accident (I mean, how? Why?).

I sometimes dream of being an empty nester, although I am sure when it comes in like two decades I'll look back nostalgically.....
