I need help please. Violated by physiotherapist

I have had a terrible experience with the Physiotherapist recommended to me by AXA health. I can't stop going back again and again in my head wondering when it started and I thought it must be part of the therapy. Did he see my silence as me encouraging him and wanting it? 😭😭 I feel so violated. I am not sure if it is allowed for me to post their details. I want them exposed. I had sessions left which I have cancelled but then they asked to speak with me and I sent a message giving details of what had occurred. I got their email this morning and they said that they're going to "investigate". I know he knows what he did, but where's my proof?

This is absolutely not normal physiotherapy practice. You need to report this to the police and the Health and Care Professions Council. They are our professional regulatory body and will investigate the allegation and have the power to remove therapists from the register. I am sorry this has happened to you.

Have you called the police op or just complained to the company?

This is a sexual assault and you really should report it to the police - you never know otherwise may have done the same .

An internal company investigation will not be as robust as a criminal investigation. They may attempt
To minimise it as the company will be associated with this - I'd report to police who Will be independent.

I would have reported the assault to both the police and the physiotherapist's governing body, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP). I am so sorry this happened to you.

It was in the gym? You mean the therapist table is in the gym space? Not in a separate room? If so, there may be cameras which would be helpful

WhiteFire · 26/01/2023 22:02

You are absolutely not at any fault in this, you were taken advantage of and violated.

It was in the Gym. They have a private therapy room and he said to use the Gym. It was one of the reasons I initially thought the touch must be part of the therapy. It has a bed like a massage bed.

You cannot understand what your words mean even after I told the full story and about just lying there. I have been so ashamed and going over it all again and again. Thank you

Thank you all for the advice and support. I am sure I cannot be the first woman he's done this to

This person has assaulted you, I would go to the police. You just lay there because you couldn’t process someone assaulting you in a public place. I am so very sorry this bastard did this to you.

Justmeandthedog1 · 26/01/2023 22:44

Call the police on 101.
I don’t want to make you feel more unhappy but could he have filmed it on aPC, laptop or phone? Police will take all his tech.

I’m so sorry this happened to you and I totally understand how you’d freeze. Please speak to the police.

Justmeandthedog1 · 26/01/2023 22:46

You can call 101 tonight, they’re 24/7.

I don't know what I am doing 😭😭 I haven't been able to sleep through the night since Monday. My heart keeps racing. Been going into work acting normal.

I just wanted to add that you are not to blame in this! It was a horrible experience and he was 100% in the wrong. Please don't think you encouraged him by not reacting - that was a normal response. I was assaulted in a public place and froze too. My brain couldn't believe it was happening.
