Are deliberately being obtuse

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Just as I expected. Google it, dear.

myrtleWilson · 26/01/2023 11:39

No-one is forcing you to use the site PhilamperistPrincess - if you're not happy with the functionality there is a wide open array of sites awaiting your wisdom..

grapehyacinthisactuallyblue · 26/01/2023 12:30

Incredible
Are deliberately being obtuse
I clearly showed an example of how a nmae change can confuse posters, other posters. my previous name clearly was, or not clearly because of the change was
Famous Princess.

It's not going to be confusing, because name change during a thread isn't allowed, it's sockpuppeting. So if you do, you will be breaking the rules, as I understand.

AlternativelyWired · 26/01/2023 12:35

@FamousPrincess are you the poster who got stroppy because the GP wouldn't prescribe certain medication and other posters agreed with the GP? You have the same lovely tone as she does and it's hard to understand why anyone would take issue with you.

Not obtuse, factious.

Report it as well as my first post onn this thread with my new name that was clearly declared as my new name chage.

Please try harder.

ScorchBeastQueen · 27/01/2023 05:05

Please consider not banning the name changes as it allows people to post sensitive information without fear of being outed and any previous posts being linked

New poster on a site that's been running for 20 odd years, doesn't like something, so thinks whole site should change to suit them. 😂

keep it coming OP you're very entertaining 👍

Just a general Q, what if you've previously commented but now (eg after OP's update) you want to give very specific advice with identifying real life info?

If it's that identifying you probably need to think twice before posting it all over Mumsnet. Realistically, and we've seen it loads, people think their situations are a lot more unique than they are. Nothing new under the sun.

I mean it's not top secret info, I don't work for the CIA! It wouldn't be anything I'd mind people in real life knowing.

Random examples (not all applicable to me): specific comments on certain rental markets, industry careers, school entry requirements with reference to personal circumstances, if OP is looking for practical info. Of course I won't go into gory detail but might have identifiable specifics.

I just don't want people in real life then linking that particular comment to my main MN profile.

I've done this and never been told off. I only do it when it's very obviously to share something sensitive. MNHQ seem fine when it's harmless and helpful.

I’ve done that before when the op has added information and the comment I’d want to make would be location specific.

MaureenSowerbuttsCardi · 27/01/2023 06:35

sorry! just realised I've quoted the wrong person

Vallmo47 · 27/01/2023 07:02

The block feature would be good, I agree Op. I can’t stand rude people who struggle with basic manners and are rude even when given the answer. I mean, there are worse crimes in life than a lack of manners I suppose, but it ranks pretty high on my list of offences. How hard is it to be polite when you’re asking people to take time out of their day to respond to your enquiry. You don’t always get the answer you want, but even my children know not to shoot the messenger. Oh and if I pointed out to my children that they lack manners and their response is “thank you from the bottom of my heart”, there would be consequences for their behaviour. Maybe you should put yourself in time out?

Nudity · 27/01/2023 07:06

All humans are equipped with an ignore feature. We can choose to ignore people/comments.

Coffeecreme · 27/01/2023 07:08

sit and think about it op

I’m guessing based on the thread I think OP is referring to here and another thread I had the pleasure of encountering OP on.

Was OP equally rude on that one?

@ricepuddin I've seen many people use PM for that matter, like commenting on the thread, PM you, OP, etc.

ImmigrantAlice · 27/01/2023 07:57

FamousPrincess · 22/01/2023 16:18

How so? People have told you that what you asked.

They didn’t like the answer I gave when they requested some bespoke fairly detailed and of course free financial advice for people with more than the means to pay, and I was basically told to sit down and be quiet so someone else could help.

I’m not surprised - I wonder what the OP is like in real life.
They come across as rude and entitled on this thread, that’s for sure!
