I'm really interested. I'm facing needing to get a new job and I'd like to continue working from home. I know there is lots more out there now post-pandemic. So, if you work from home, what do you do? Do you like it?

Me too! Bumping for you ☺️

Mortgage Administration, its not that exciting, but can easily done from home. No need to see clients face to face.

Its not the most exciting job or well paid job in the world, but it fits in well with having children as can be done around school hours

Financial services. Generally work 2 or 3 out of 4 days at home. Can't imagine going back to the office full time. I'd really struggle with it.

I work for a housing association. We're all at home, my specific role involves the occasional event to go to. Also team meeting in office once a month.

I've wfh since 1995. I write scientific software so it's rather niche!

What's your background and types of skill?

user8545 · 17/01/2023 21:47

Civil service, yes most of the time.

Executive Assistant (PA to a couple of Exec’s). Officially meant to go in 3 days a week but in reality only really go in when my Exec’s there which is often much less. I have seen lots of EA roles being advertised as fully remote though recently.

Oh, could you do an AMI?

Bumply · 17/01/2023 21:53

DevOps

Was able to continue working from home during lockdown.

Currently back in office on hybrid basis. I go 2 days a week, but others go all 5 and others remain at home except when there's a meeting where face to face is expected.

I enjoy the mix.
40 minute commute is worth it to sit in a heated office (22-23° today), but also appreciate no commute the other days where I can roll out of bed just minutes before working day starts.

Meetings were always by Teams as we have team members in different offices/countries, so no different there.

How does that work over a video?

I'm an EA (exec assistant)

I work for a cruise company. Many of the home workers are part of the contact centre so they take calls from customers booking their holidays :)
