Can anyone recommend a good maths tutoring company? GCSE level

Hi,

Just this really. DD has always struggled a lot in maths and is actually not predicted to pass. Her predicted grade is a 3 and she got a 2+ in her mocks, so to get a 4 it's going to take a lot of work!

She's already had several online tutors who all let her down (through the same company) and we now need to find someone else.

Any suggestions?

Thanks very much 😊

Google and see if you have a Kumon centre near you - they're good.

Just came on to say not Kumon. My husband runs a tuition company for maths (I won’t say which as it’s advertising and against rules!!) but we always end up with the kids who struggled due to Kumon failing them. When we were 16 my best friend worked there for £10 an hour and hated maths, not sure how on Earth she could tutor people!

Do you have a KipMcGrath near you?
DD struggled with maths as the teacher went too fast for her, so I took her to Kip McGrath once a week, then twice a week for the three weeks before her exam. She passed GCSE maths with flying colours.

It is two words not one.
Kip McGrath

Hi, I agree with PP - not Kumon! Especially for GCSE 😬 we have a great company we use for maths. Feel free to DM me and I can pass on their details

Kumon is TERRIBLE! it teaches children to be robots and not think for themselves. You want to get a tutor who can pay your child attention and tailor to their weaknesses

Ask at school, there may be an ex teacher who does it. Alternatively do you know anyone with a child doing 'A' level maths or a maths degree? They may be willing to tutor.

We used MyTutor - suited both my kids who preferred to meet online.

AT Cosmiccosmos, I would not recommend this as the teachers are obviously not doing a great job os explaining in the first place! I think there are also laws around this due to conflict of interest, you shouldn't be allowed to tutor your own student
