Waffle and his owners are twats

I know it’s been done, but DS is going through a Waffle phase. He has ASD and goes through things like these - were currently watching the same one or two episodes on hard rotation, and he keeps quoting the script at me as well. It is driving me insane, so I shall proceed to vent:

  • Waffle has a stupid voice
  • The theme song is also stupid
  • His family are appalling neighbours! They keep letting their dog invade Mrs Hobbs house, alarm her cat and flood her fucking kitchen, and just say ‘Ooooh Waffle that was very silly’ 😯 They deserve an ASBO!
  • Mrs Hobbs is the true hero for not slashing their tyres in the night after months of canine harassment. And she should definitely call the police on the dad, who keeps crawling through a hole in the cupboard and invading her home, the creepy sod
  • The bloke with all the other dogs is also a creepy twat. Bleurgh. He gives me the creeps
  • The one with all the loo roll is even worse than the flooded kitchen one

Please god DS will find a new obsession soon… meanwhile I am Team Hobbs

My DC are 10 and 8...I miss CBeebies... 😭

OrangePomander · 09/01/2023 21:41

We shamelessly indoctrinated ours on Pingu, plus old VHS copies of Bagpuss and the original Clangers, bought nostalgically during my teens 😂
Though we didn’t entirely manage to avoid the newer shite programmes. I’m still coming down from the In the Night Garden and Mr Tumble years.

Danikm151 · 09/01/2023 21:41

@Pinkflipflop85 ahh someone else who knows about Steve and Maggie!

the songs are in my head constantly. We only discovered it because of put your botty on the potty- now my son demands it!

strugglingwithlife · 09/01/2023 21:53

Oh baby Jake! DD used to like that, used to laugh her head off at it, thank goodness she has grown out of that now, it got right on my tits!
She still likes Ra Ra the noisy lion. And the twirlywoos.
Totally agree with pp who said "being a whiney little shit. It's a Bing thing"!

LadyTwinkle · 09/01/2023 22:04

My 2 year absolutely loves Waffle. But I do wonder how the parents ever managed to qualify as a vet and a teacher seeing as they barley function as responsible adults. They're not a sensible pair are they. They worst one is when they take Waffle to the show shop knowing her loves to chew shoes. And they also take him to the indoor ski slope without checking if dogs are allowed and Doug's more sensible step dad has to point it out to them.

Howeverdoyouneedme · 09/01/2023 22:12

All three of my children have loved Baby Jake. I reckon I know all the older siblings names off by heart, Ava, Blake, Chloe, Dylan, Edie, Freddie, Ginny, Harry.
I hated the colours of their lounge.

ArrrMeHearties · 09/01/2023 22:19

Waffle is a dick but so are the "owners". He's not a clever boy at all 😂. However ds and I still like molly and mack. He loves that the forth rail bridge is in it and had renamed it molly and macks bridge. Its not far from us and we like to go and watch the trains and the boats

Ruffpuff · 09/01/2023 22:24

Mr Tumble creeped me out as a kid, and he still does now tbh, but I like him more now I know how inclusive his programmes are.

In the night garden is trippy as hell. Great for infants and stoners.

Bing is a whiney little brat who only the positive parents could love.

Waffle needs to be put down.

Peter rabbit needs to be shot and put in a pie.

Duggee is a ledge

Pj Masks think they’re the shit but their stories don’t make sense

Peppa is a fatphobic psychopath

Go Jeffers lick their own arses and need to stop thinking their the best thing since meat-alternatives.

Moon and Me is terrifying. What tf is wrong with that onion?

Bluey is a legend

The new versions of Bob the Builder, Thomas the Tank, and Fireman Sam are tragedies that tarnish the glory of their former days, and encapsulates all that is now wrong in the hell that is today’s society.

Ruffpuff · 09/01/2023 22:26

*they’re. Apologies, this was written in passion and rage

LBB2020 · 09/01/2023 22:28

Ahhh Moon and Me! It terrified my 2 year old for ages, unfortunately he now loves it! He especially loves Mr Onion?!

NumericalBlock · 09/01/2023 22:29

Pinkflipflop85 · 09/01/2023 19:21

Could be worse...

We're stuck on constant Steve and Maggie episodes!

Oh gosh, I had a month of the Halloween ones. Never again.

Creamcakesandpastries · 09/01/2023 22:31

SinnerBoy · 09/01/2023 16:51

Not to mention the thieving vandal, Peter Bloody Rabbit!

THISSSS

1984Winston · 09/01/2023 22:45

Has no one mentioned Blippi? My youngest is obsessed 😭 although both of mine loved Bing too, he's so whingy and Flop must drink lots to cope with him!

1984Winston · 09/01/2023 22:45

We were also subjected to Steve and Maggie, have watched the Halloween episode so many times!

Dinneronmybfpillow · 10/01/2023 02:11

My biggest gripe with Waffle is that his owners seem to think a giant length of ribbon is an acceptable lead (this may not be consistent, I haven't watched all of the episodes) and then act surprised when he fucks off.

LBB2020 · 10/01/2023 07:34

@1984Winston my 5 year old loves Blippi 😫we won’t let him watch it anymore as it sends him wild (he has SEN and acts out whatever silly nonsense Blippi is doing!)

Spudlet · 10/01/2023 07:51

@1984Winston We have a similar issue with Abney and Teal. I do actually quite like that one, but for some reason it sends DS into an overexcited tailspin 😵‍💫

Sorry, that last one was more for @LBB2020

Blippi is HORRIFIED. Devoid of any soul whatsoever. And they keep interchanging the Blippi guy, which I find confusing.

I totally agree with this!

True, but new Postman Pat is acceptable.
