Ever slapped someone across the face?

Settled down to Midsomer Murders on the telly and there was a scene of a bickering couple which ended with the woman slapping the poor chap across the face.

Anyone actually had a go IRL?!

Yes. Some random bloke grabbed my arse in a bar

Same but he was a customer and I was bar staff.
Also a girl in secondary school who had been bullying me for years.

AWaferThinMint · 07/01/2023 22:45

Yes. But only when I was acting on stage!

ObsidianBlock · 07/01/2023 22:51

I was being bullied by a group of boys in school fairly regularly. I was a quiet little goody two shoes. One boy decided to block my way to my desk in form room and was trying to make me beg him to move out of the way. I asked nicely, he laughed and said no, then i saw red and belted him across the face as hard as i could. He had a hand print for the rest of the day and he never bullied me again. The form tutor was there, he simply laughed and told the boy he deserved it. I like to think that these days, the teacher would have thought a tiny bit harder and realised i was being bullied and done something about it.

Yes as a teenager

InTheFutilityRoomEatingBiscuits · 07/01/2023 22:54

Many times but I prefer a punch, works best if you swing wildly enough to catch their attention, they turn their head away from the fist and you knee them in the balls.

Unfortunately I think these days you would be suspended for assault.

Yes. She was my high school bully and I belted her across the face. I got a bollocking from the school but I didn't care.

She never bullied me again.

Rosit · 07/01/2023 23:02

God it is depressing how many of these came after an assault from a man.

Mine was the same story - when I was about 13/14 a group of boys from school stopped me, surrounded me, and one of them tried to force me to kiss him. I slapped him and stopped him and then burst into tears. I, of course, was the one who felt ashamed, like it was my fault, and didn’t tell anyone what had happened.

Nat6999 · 07/01/2023 23:03

Yes my ex sil, I had gone up to fetch ds home as he hadn't been brought back (this was just after we had split up) & ex sil got in my face so I slapped her & then she punched me & then all hell broke loose. I wish I had hit her harder.

ladygindiva · 07/01/2023 23:15

Yes, three times actually. 1) a stranger in a bar abroad grabbed me and stuck his tongue down my throat. When he finally let go I slapped him so hard he fell over. People cheered. 2) ex went AWOL when I was having a MC at home alone with no phone ( mid 90s) when I felt ok I found him in a pub ...not my finest hour slapping him in the face but I was the most broken I've ever been. 3) Amdram play, great fun, was supposed to be a stage slap but I accidentally did a real one... Luckily the other actor was very forgiving 😱

Once. Ooh I still love telling this tale 😂I was just 18 and had been seeing a lad for about a year. We were supposed to have gone out on the Friday night into town and he rang me about 5 minutes before I was meant to leave for the bus to say that he couldn't go, he had to work. Fine, I arranged to go with the girls instead. We walked into one pub and he was sat in there in a snug kissing another girl. I went over, slapped him and threw his pint in his face. I can almost taste the satisfaction to this day.

HisNameWasMike · 07/01/2023 23:23

In his defence he has been married to "that girl" since and it was probably 1995/6....we laugh about it now 😆

I was FURIOUS at the time. He had a really cool motorbike AND his dad was a copper.

Goosefatroasts · 07/01/2023 23:24

Not a slap but I have punched someone in the face.

Mine was about twenty years ago but I still remember the satisfaction of seeing what a shiner he had when he'd meant to give me one 😁

resipsa · 07/01/2023 23:36

I agree with the PP. So depressing that so many are a result of assaults by men. Definitely teaching my 12 year old to make it hurt!

HisNameWasMike · 07/01/2023 23:37

He was such a prick as well. 42 year old me would have wiped the fucking floor with him. Nice, isn't it?

GhostCastle · 07/01/2023 23:39

DM slapped me really hard across the face when I was 10. I was being really annoying at the time. It shocked me so much that I didn’t cry.

Squiff70 · 07/01/2023 23:40

Yep, as a child at primary school. A girl was bullying me in the playground so I slapped her across the face. I was punished by being made to stand under the clock in the main hall - the ultimate shame as the whole school could see you'd been really bad! Once I was released, I went back into the playground. The girl carried on bullying so I slapped her again.

One of the things I'm proud of actually. I do t condone violence but I won't stand for bullying either!

I can't punch anymore because I have awful arthritis in my hands. But I can still live vicariously though past me. Karate CHOP 😂

Frith2013 · 08/01/2023 01:40

A man in a club shoved his arm down my top (through the neck hole).

I didn't waste any time slapping but punched him in the face. I didn't expect him to be knocked to the floor, so that was satisfying.

L1ttledrummergirl · 08/01/2023 01:53

Yes, similar to reasons above. One was a cheating boyfriend, one was a random in a pub who pulled my top down while I was dancing.

Dd slapped a boy around the face when she was around 6. One boy pushed her over, she stood up and slapped him hard, when his mate went to push her she held her ground and shoved him straight back. They were both a couple of years older than her and I was so proud of how she held her own.

I don't condone violence but sometimes it's the only language arseholes understand.

Lieslies · 08/01/2023 01:57

When I was 16 I punched a boy who trapped me against the wall and kissed me after I'd said no.

Recently chucked cheating ex out, he came round to get his stuff and I picked up his cricket bat and just paused for a second before passing it to him. I wish now I'd given in to the urge to give the little shit a good crack across the shins with it, but I suppose I'm a better person because I didn't.

It's an unfashionable opinion now, but I don't believe violence is always wrong.

Fluffygreenslippers · 08/01/2023 05:13

Yes, a few times, and punched someone in the face.

torquewench · 08/01/2023 06:16

Yep. My ex had me cornered during one of the many arguments that he'd start after he'd been drinking. He had been calling me all sorts and was threatening me. I slapped him hard, although it was a reflex/defensive action rather than a conscious/deliberate one. It happened once.

Following this one single slap, he told anyone who'd listen that I was violent whilst omitting that he was an emotional abuser who'd deliberately pick a fight out of nowhere when he'd been drinking. He drank every night. Used to say he was a "happy drunk" Hmm

I know that "he made me do it" is a lame excuse, but it was a scary situation to find myself in and I wanted to get away from him as fast as I could.

I've never, ever hit anyone else.

Bagsundermyeyestoday · 08/01/2023 06:35

No, but I would love to!!
