Have you ever fancied/ become attracted to someone with a facial disfigurement or is that something that would put you off ?

Absolutely no judgment on this what so ever at all so be as honest as you like. Have you ever fancied someone or gotten to know someone that has become really attractive if they have some kind of facial difference. Does some one you know have an amazing personality that outshines their disfigurement?

I'm a single male so I'm intrigued at the answers

I really fancied a man with a scar from a cleft lip. And still fancy Joaquin Phoenix because he has a similar scar.

I know a man who was badly burned in a house fire, especially face and because I didn't know him beforehand his look is normal to me,to be honest I don't register the burns anymore.

Have you seen any of the 'what's sexy in a man' threads op? They are all about men reversing in white shirts wearing watches and stuff.

ive had crushes before on guys with things different about their faces - one had a congenital anomaly (ie was born with something a bit different), one had lots of acne scarring… I think not only do you not see these things when you love someone, they become part of what you love. I also love a lisp.

Nope, can genuinely say that in itself wouldn't put me off.

I had a massive crush on an old boss, who suffered terribly from psoriasis (including his face) to the extent that he looked like he'd been in a fire. He was so funny and charming, slim and fit and just had something about him.

My DH has a (very) lazy eye. To me it looks like he's doing a sleepy seductive wink at me, quite like it!

Good thread OP, I hope it's made you feel a bit better.

Oooh Tom Burke! The one who plays Cormoran Strike! Or is it Cormorant? My colleague and I were just chatting about how we fancy him the other day! Not at all shallow, us! We are oldies so it does not count!!

I have always wondered if my kids notice people staring at me while out and about. Now I know the answer is, most likely.
I was born with a cleft lip/palate.
I do notice when people stare at me, but I'm used to it. In fact, I've grown kind of fond of the attention. I enjoy seeing how people react when I walk confidently into a room. Facial expressions and eye contact (or lack thereof) can tell so much about a person.
The one thing that always stings a little though, is seeing the curling of the upper lip look that some people do when they see me. You know...like when you see something gross and all of the sudden, one side of your upper lip starts to rise like you're trying to be Elvis.
It rarely happens but when it does, I shake it off and walk away singing, 🎶Uh, don't be cruel to a heart that's true🎶

I wouldn't be attracted to someone with a facial disfigurement at first sight but if I got to know them then it's possible an attraction would develop.

Simon Weston springs to mind. When he speaks you forget about the scars and all you see and hear is a lovely man.
