Apparently, I have too many dressing gowns.
I disagree, as they all serve a purpose.
I have two towelling robes- one is very old and ratty, but excellent at absorbing water, so that goes on straight out of the bath. Unless it's warmer in the house, in which case the cotton waffle robe goes on.
Then the nicer towelling one goes on after moisturising, because anything made of man-made fibres makes me sweat if I put it on too soon after bath/moisturiser.
After half an hour or so I'll put on nightie and dressing gown, or fleece men's pj trousers and a big men's fleece lounge top.
I also have several summer-weight ones, short and long, for various post-bath/shower situations, including a beautiful navy blue shorty one, for which I have been on the hunt for a matching chemise nighty for years.
