What would you do with £1000?

Just say, you came into £1000 but had to spend it and not save it, what would you do with it?

But a new front door as the bastard thing broke again on Christmas Day.

Just chuck it into my investment account.

I'd go on holiday. Half to pay for flights/hotel, half for spends.

I'd absolutely overpay pay my mortgage. My dad and his wife gave me £351 at Christmas and it went straight to the mortgage!

But if I were mortgage-free? I'd get new flooring and get the bedrooms redecorated. Wow I'm boring!

Dentist, clothes shop for kids, trip home and books!!!

I badly need a walk in shower( disabled) so I would put that towards it

id get someone in to decorate hall, stairs and landing as I can’t see how I can do it.

Massive sex and drugs bender?

Holiday

New steam pods, a bottle of Chanel chance and a mini break for us all.

A city break.

Some really nice comfy pillows, a meal out, a night away and a massage. Or maybe a hair cut instead of one of those things.

If it was for purely frivolous spending.

Either a new MacBook

Or a massage a month for the year and spend the rest on a couple of nights in a lovely hotel

Tickets somewhere hot.

I’ve been given a decent amount of compensation - the rest of it has been used on practical things (ie to fix what went wrong) and to top up my savings. I am employed and earn more than £1k per month so my bills etc are covered.

I can set aside £1k to do whatever with without it impacting my life elsewhere. This is just meant to be a lighthearted thread - thank you all for your ideas ❤️

I would pay off my credit card or use it towards my rent.

That’s easy. I would put it toward the cost of a holiday.

I'd want to save it as we're saving for a mortgage deposit but since that's not allowed I would get hair extensions and a change of hair colour and a gucci necklace I've been eyeing up. That's about half of it, the other half I would take my kids out for the day and treat them.

Buy all the materials or what I could anyway towards converting our lift.

Having read your latest update op, I think you should treat yourself to a new hair cut/colour/massage/something else that will make you feel amazing. I would personally also do what some others on here have suggested, and get my hall/stairs and landing painted as it makes me miserable every time I walk in the front door! Basically do something that makes you smile and feel good 💐

Of course. I’ve booked a weekend trip away to London with friends in a few weeks.

Other than that, I bought a new lipstick. I might buy a nice (rewearable) outfit but just haven’t had the shopping urge yet
