Anyone want to add to my ever increasing list of words/terms that are just really bloody annoying?

There are many but this year I've been able to add even more:

Weaponise
Twixmas
You do you

Feel free to add yours!

Not a word but "hanging out the back of her" referring to doggy-style sex is one of the worst phrases I've ever heard.

"Safeguarding".

"Provider" as in "healthcare provider".

"Service user".

"Activities of Daily Living/ADLs".

"Settled" in a healthcare context.

A completely irrational dislike I have is 'unwell' to mean ill, particularly when the unwellness is clearly very serious.

Forgot also: "sickies" when used to mean patients who are dangerously ill.

The words used to keep TikTok users from being blocked. I hate them because of the way they sound in my head and because I can foresee them being used in actual human conversation, so I might actually have to hear them in the wild at some point.

Seggs and Seggsy.

'Wines' as in 'after a few wines I got over-emotional'. Also completely irrational of me, particularly because I think 'a few beers' or even 'a few vodkas' is fine.

'The ick', never heard it in real life, and glad I am about that.
'Picky bits' Isn't that a buffet?
'It is what it is' -unhelpful-just say nothing rather than that meaningless sentence.

Play date.
key worker.
making memories.

What's wrong with key worker? It's been used for years and years as part of KS1 at schools.

I agree with your other two though!

Passed instead of died. It’s not even ‘passed away’ anymore.

People who say they have ‘done’ a place instead of visited, or had a holiday there.

Completely agree especially with passed. Just say died. Not everything needs to be a euphemism.

I came on to say, ‘it is what it is’ too.

‘Jog on’. It’s such a disrespectful thing to say.

‘Fur babies’. I bloody love my dogs, but no.

I dislike the way people use the word 'naice', it's usually used when someone is trying to be pretentious.

"The people's" as in the people's vote/ Princess/ party / whatever
I find it infuriatingly patronising. Like we are all one big underclass who should be grateful that "they" have done something for "the people" who all have the same opinion ARGH STOP IT

The mumsnet acronyms get on my nerves 'DH' 'DP' 'DC' 'YANBU' like can't we just type out the words in full? It doesn't save much time to shorten (if any!) but I may be alone in this opinion haha x

I really don't mind the DH/DD/DS stuff on here. I never give it a second thought, it's quicker to type and everyone knows what they mean, no need to overthink them.
Type out the words in full if you like but it's easier not to now.

‘Can I get…?’ when asking for something in a bar/cafe etc. Yes technically you can, if you are able to vault over the counter and help yourself, but in reality most establishments would be really hacked off if you did.
Does my head in!

People talking about a person that has died should be able to refer to the death in any way they want IMO.
