This is correct. Most cardboard is sent to China for recycling and China passed a law that bans 'rubbish' being sent to them. Contaminated cardboard is classed as rubbish and therefore any load which contains pizza boxes is rejected entirely. One pizza box and the whole load goes to landfill, or up the chimney.

DH told me this and he should know as he's a professer in industrial recycling.

Used pizza boxes don't go in the green (recycling) bin. They go in the brown(compost) bin. If you don't have a compost bin, then general waste bin.

Just been reading it all on Twitter and can’t stop laughing. Whatever you think about Greta (I love her) it would take a heart of stone not to laugh at Andrew Tate doxing himself with a pizza box.

In response to claims Greta is a multi-millionaire, in a recent interview to The Times she said she has given away all prize money she has earned as an activist and the proceeds from her book. All she lives on is her student grant and she allowed herself to keep the money for translating her book into English. I believe her. Whether you agree with her views or not (I don’t on everything) she is clearly a person of principle. In the same interview (by Caitlin Moran if I remember rightly) the interviewer was surprised by how few “people” Greta has supporting/protecting her. It seems very unlikely that other people are directing her and writing her tweets.

In my local area, (Bolton) we are directed to recycle pizza boxes in our beige paper bin.

I find her quite sanctimonious. Whoever Andrew Tate is (an "influencer? ), he's probably going to get his come-uppance

Not to be a dick but having worked at the coalface as it were at a waste brokers last year, this isn't quite correct. 'contaminated' ie not a grade pristine clean cardboard is bought and sold many times over in this country and abroad until the last resort which you are correct, is landfill in China or India. The industry has come on a lot and there's loads of innovative ways of recycling food packaging now. If you don't separate out the recycling this effects the price it will fetch, first and foremost, it's not really about contamination at that point, just money changing hands.

Ignorance of the origin of it's meaning, I should think. It's bandied about online an awful lot and I don't think that most people in the UK, at least, are Nazis. I've had a few online disagreements over it, often where people refused to acknowledge links supporting what I wrote.
