Ferrero Rocher or Terry's Chocolate Orange - which do you prefer?

If neither, say neither. I'm asking because I have a box of 24 FR all to myself. I've already scoffed two. I don't have a TCO.

I'm sitting on the fence. Equally good.

Neither

WildRosie · 28/12/2022 12:00

Creeping my own thread here but I think Aldi chocolate is quite decent. I occasionally buy the five-packs of small bars, either plain or milk. They've gone up in price by nearly 40p in a year!

Ooh now you've thrown in a curve ball.

Aldi aren't international so the votes may be skewed... 😀

So I'll throw in the white FR as my other option.

I had a Ferrero Rocher Easter egg a couple of years ago and it was the most god aweful thing I had ever tasted and I actually threw it away (which is unheard of with me and chocolate). It really need the hazelnut cream to taste good as the chocolate isn't on its own.

Twospaniels · 28/12/2022 12:17

Terry’s Chocolate Orange, but the dark chocolate one.

I have a nut allergy so wouldn’t eat the Ferrero Rocher anyway.

Any TCO - don't like FR at all

isthismylifenow · 28/12/2022 12:19

They are fucking about with most chocolates these days. I bought some Quality Street for Christmas thinking they won't be too bad, as they haven't messed around with the recipes of ours too much as yet.

I had got a 3 for 2 deal so had bought 2 boxes. The first had no strawberry cream in and the second had no orange creme. They are the only reason I buy the bloody things. Plenty toffees though.

If you want to know how to upset a woman in peri, quality street have mastered it.

3peassuit · 28/12/2022 12:20

Ferraro. Chocolate oranges used to taste lovely but they now taste waxy to me. I suspect they use more Pam oil now.

Tulipomania · 28/12/2022 12:22

I don't eat chocolate that contributes to the destruction of precious wildlife habitats.

Chasingsquirrels · 28/12/2022 12:24

Both 😊 (although not at the same time)

GiltEdges · 28/12/2022 12:32

Do raffaello (the white FR) count? They were included in my FR advent calendar from FIL and are absolutely the food of the gods 😍

Bluevelvetsofa · 28/12/2022 12:35

FR, rather than TCO.

Last year Aldi had a Toblerone type that was very good. Only a white chocolate one this year. Which is not choc in my opinion.

ThePoshUns · 28/12/2022 12:36

TCO

IfIGoThereWillBeTrouble · 28/12/2022 12:39

FR, the ones in the white wrapper are my favourite, then the gold wrapper. I don’t like the ones in the brown wrapper.

A friend of mine ALWAYS gives me a box of FR for Xmas, so I excitedly opened my present from her……and it was a different make 😓

ouch321 · 28/12/2022 12:44

"Scoffed 2"?

Was that supposed to be 20?

2 is hardly scoffing. Not in the real world anyway.

sanityisamyth · 28/12/2022 12:58

I gave DS(8) a Toblerone and a TCO as he likes both. FR are revolting and far too much packaging.

Ayeaken · 28/12/2022 12:58

TCO! Eating my 4th segment as I type.

custardbear · 28/12/2022 12:59

Bloody hell where's the question here - Terry's of course!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 28/12/2022 13:00

I don't like either, but I'd go for FR if there was a gun against my head.

TCO are a waste of a good orange!

cobblers123 · 28/12/2022 13:13

I've got both, the chocolate orange was part of a gift, the Ferrero I bought myself as I like them.

Out if the two, I prefer the Ferraro Rocher, as I love chocolate with nuts.

RocketIceLollie · 28/12/2022 13:16

Ferrero. There are lots of orange chocolate these days that Terry's chocolate orange doesn't seem special anymore.

cobblers123 · 28/12/2022 13:21

Aldi did used to have a FR lookalike called something similar to Niccolo. Can't remember exact name.

They were quite nice and much cheaper too. If I'd seen them first I wouldn't have bought the FR.

SkylightSkylight · 28/12/2022 13:23

TCO

FR only if given one & it seems rude to refuse.

QS definitely smaller & not as nice and now they're fucking about with the wrappers as well. The Christmas tree lights making the wrappers twinkle is a big part of the nostalgia.

small plastic tubs, half full & half the sweets wrapped in this weird paper really aren't the same & are killing (have killed) the nostalgia!!

WeAllHaveWings · 28/12/2022 13:25

Last time I bought a TCO it had changed recipe, similar to Cadbury, and tasted awful. I haven't tasted or bought one since, I would probably decline a piece if offered.

If it was a choice between the two then I dont mind an occasional FR, but I wouldnt buy a full box.

BethDuttonsTwin · 28/12/2022 13:30

Ferraro Rocher all day every day. Lovely chocolate orange as a flavour but TCO is not the best for some reason.
