Anyone know what this is? Baffled...

I was given this at Christmas. But I'm at a complete loss as to what it is. It's apparently made of silk scraps. Is it just decorative?
NB I can't ask the giver - I already showed my appreciation and to follow up with 'what is it?' seems a little rude!

You could make a ribbon wreath with it. You'd just need a loop of wire and a few minutes to tie short pieces of the fabric all the way around. It looks pretty as you have it though 🙂

definitely ribbon/yarn. I’ve seen lovely decorations made from knotting short bits of ribbon onto a length of string if homemade decor is your cup of tea!

Do you like it? I'd have been put out but someone gave me a hood attachment for a coat I don't have.

Looks like a Hank of yarn like t shirt yarn (or sari).

Sari yarn.

It looks like it is left over silk sari fabric and is meant to be used as a yarn (similar use of t-shirt fabric) to crochet decorative objects such as baskets, bowls, purses, vanity kits, wreaths etc.

Crocheting is quite easy to learn and you could make something quite beautiful with it rather quickly. Take a look on Pinterest for some ideas.

Or regift it to someone you know who likes crochet or knitting.....
