I love the run up to Christmas more than the day itself tbh. But by heck am I glad it’s over. It gets tiring after a while.

Oh goody. Can’t wait for heatwaves, endless hot and humid days, everyone outside All The Time, endless noise. 🥵 I live in the SE.

I am so happy now, and sad that Winter Solstice has already passed. I love Christmas and was thrilled to have snow this year. I’m hoping for wild and windy weather and for the dark nights to last as long as possible and to have a proper spring rather than slide straight into bloody summer starting from April to almost November.

We’ve had a great Christmas and it will continue into New Years Day. No way am I short-changing myself!

Oh yes, I'd love a proper spring! My birthday is in spring. No heatwaves in 2023, thank you 😰

Just finished work, xmas was well and truly over yesterday.
Some have time at home, or can take annual leave ... others don't and can't.

DysonSpheres · 27/12/2022 18:40

@Abracadabra12345 I with you on that. I'm also SE...London to boot and I really HATED summer last year, it actually made me ill, I'm not a lover of summer in general but last year was seriously unbearable!

And what's with this new thing of summer starting in bloody April? April should be showers virtually everyday. And May seems to have disappeared altogether, is it even still on the calender? Because I see no difference between that and June/July at all!

I too am hoping for galey, windy weather with some refreshing downpours and thunderstorms. I love me a thunderstorm!

DysonSpheres · 27/12/2022 18:41

Last year....this year still!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 27/12/2022 18:42

I feel relieved. The anticipation of it is like a weight on me from mid November. Now I have a lovely five or six weeks of nothing needing to be done and feeling well, before hay fever season starts in February.

I’m quite enjoying the deep cleaning I’m doing until work commences again. Loads of stuff that’s been bothering me for months/years is now being sorted.

iloveyankeecandle · 27/12/2022 20:34

I love Christmas. I really do. But for some reason I've been really unorganized this year. It's been a headache and I don't think I've truly loved it as much as normal. I can't wait to get the decorations down too. Which is unlike me.

Always4Brenner · 27/12/2022 20:43

I love spring but no heatwave next please dreadful just dreadful that reminds me must get a spring summer duvet. By March at least.

Objectionhearsayspeculation · 27/12/2022 21:53

I'm kind of enjoying the peace of this quiet time before it all gets busy again after New Year, I look forward to it most of everything, so I will be sad when that's over.

onlyconnect · 27/12/2022 21:56

Agree with others that it's not over. For me it's over on 2nd Jan. I love this time when the days blur and it's slow and relaxing

SquigglePigs · 27/12/2022 22:03

It depends what you mean by over. We've had my parents here for a few days and we head to the in-laws tomorrow for a few days, then to friends for New Year. As far as I'm concerned it isn't over til the 1st, if not the 2nd.

FourChimneys · 27/12/2022 22:05

I worked for a few hours today (own business so I can ignore the bank holiday) and really enjoyed it.

I have lots of plans for 2023, both for my business and personally. Can't wait for the new year to start. Once the solstice has passed I always feel really cheerful and motivated.

stargirl1701 · 27/12/2022 22:06

No, it's just flaming started! It's the 3rd day of Christmas today.

If you want an extended Christmas, celebrate until Candlemas!

BogRollBOGOF · 27/12/2022 22:28

9 days to go.
Plus a bonus 3 days until the last child is back at school and normality reigns.
It's early days yet!

lightisnotwhite · 06/01/2023 17:04

Christmas seemed quicker than ever this year. Ithink the mild weather gave the impression it hadn’t happened.
I like January a lot though. It’s my birthday ( not too near the start) and I always have a little holiday. It’s the cheapest month to do anything and it feels like a positive start to the year.
Once Januarys over though I also feel Spring goes on too long. That thing with the clocks going forward when it’s not really warm or dry enough is annoying ( I like my light mornings) and then its suddenly June and the days get shorter.
