Is there an odd 'dizzy' bug atm?

Every time I sit or stand up I get really dizzy, I have no other symptoms

It's a bit odd, kind like being drunk (i don't drink at all)

Is it something going round?

Yes I have it now. Had covid start of December. One of my kids had scarlet fever on Tuesday, my husband has it now. I feel crap but with no fever just sore throat, neck ache and dizziness. Keep checking for rash but no signs yet. Dizziness gets worse if I move fast.

Yep COVID.
Just had it but thankfully not as badly as last time!
Last time I had to put hand's out to try and get to the loo. This time I was mildly dizzy on and off.

Sounds like labyrinthitis - a virus. Dh and I have both had it. I could hardly walk straight, and had to get up from bed or chair - or even turn over in bed, very slowly. Couldn’t even look up at something - except very slowly.
GP can prescribe something to help relieve symptoms but there’s no actual cure.
Ours lasted a few weeks, gradually faded away.

Yep I had this with Covid.

purpledalmation · 26/12/2022 21:26

Dh had this. I've just got the coughing one

LookdeepintotheAdvent · 26/12/2022 21:46

Yes I've had something similar- dizzy and feeling really nauseous over the last week. Have put it down to a bout of labyrinthitis which I've had a few times over the winter months in the past. Really tired and I've got a headache on and off along with awful tinnitus.

Hoping it goes away on its own without need for GP appt 😬

familyissues12345 · 27/12/2022 00:36

I had that as part of the awful flu that I've had recently - 2 weeks on I still don't feel at all right Sad

familyissues12345 · 27/12/2022 00:39

I had vomiting with it - awful as I had no nausea so no warning at all if I was about to be sick Sad

KatyMac · 27/12/2022 11:52

I am nowhere near as bad as some of you, it had gone by about 6pm last night, so I worked for a bit but it's back this morning!

Covid made me horrendously dizzy, was my worst symptom.

littlemissalwaystired · 27/12/2022 11:59

Oh and for anyone suffering, I was prescribed prochlorperazine and it worked a dream!

GhostCastle · 27/12/2022 12:00

I had really bad dizzy spells last time I had Covid. It was the worst symptom I had. Took a few days to stop.
