Bastard Tesco Wrapping Paper

Ok, I get that it's great to not have plastic wrapping. It's a great idea. What is not a great idea is having a "peel here" label that doesn't bloody peel!!!

WTF is all that about?

Not only does it not peel, it appears that they use my mother's mashed potato as their glue, cause believe me, this fucker isn't coming off.

I have 3 bastard rolls of the stuff too. Is it too early for wine?

Oh we had the Tesco one too but also a set of four rolls from Aldi which didn't even have a 'peel here'. The only way to get it off was to carefully slice through just one later of paper with a knife, so obviously every layer got damaged. I can't understand why they don't just have a brown loop of paper to keep it together. Why does it need to be sticky???

I also got a roll of unwrapped paper from Primark, which opened effortlessly, it was sealed with little brown paper tear-off strips (the kind of perforated strip you get in a raffle ticket etc). You just needed to cut a narrow margin along the edge of the paper to avoid including it when wrapping. It is achievable, clearly, pity Tesco etc have made such a pig's arse of securing their rolls.

My husband complained first. Of course I though he was being ridiculous. Then I tried my roll 😂

I had the same problem! I know you are supposed to cut the extra off but getting the labels to peel in the first place was ridiculous and why so many of them?
I've had trouble the last couple of years with cellotape not sticking to paper as well, it just pops straight back off 😭

I’ve lost my shit big time with this today, I nearly started a thread but I was too angry to type.

I was also a victim of the great glittery paper bullshit a few years ago.

My nan phoned me in a panic the other day, she's 79, she had bought the Tesco wrapping paper and couldn't get it open.

I had to drive to her house, and I swear to god I nearly had a breakdown with the stuff!! Managed to get it open but you lost a good 30cm on each roll.

My poor nan had tried for ages to open it also. I felt so sorry for her, having to ring me to come open wrapping paper up 🤦🏻‍♀️ As if she isn't already worried about her age and not being able to do things, Christmas wrapping paper shouldn't be one of them! 🙄

I had the same battle last night and I'm extra pissed off because I bought six rolls for future years. Shite.
