What are you doing tonight?

What's everyone up to?

I am at my parents' since last night, and today my youngest brother arrived from university. We're all together for the first time since the summer (all of us siblings live in different countries so not easy to meet up too often).

I had my hair cut this morning, then lunch at home with my mum and we watched a couple episodes of The Crown together. In the afternoon parents were at work, brothers out with friends. Had dinner with my dad and caught up on the local football news.

I need to work for an hour or two tonight (self-employed), and wrap up some contracts and invoices that need sending before Christmas. I'm sat on the sofa with some triple chocolate turrón (guess where we are!) and The Noel Diary on, everyone's recommending it.

Brothers are now back, I can hear them all arguing about tomorrow night's dinner plans, here's hoping nobody comes to the living room anytime soon. I miss my quiet flat already Xmas Grin

How about you? What's happening tonight at your place?

Getting pissed and watching porn with a chubby employee.

Haha. Love Actually Is All Around.

<does the Billy Mack guitar move>

@BillyMack I love you 😍

I'm sat on the sofa under the dog with a cup of tea watching it's a sin.
Dh is out and I've got a few bits to do but I'm knackered and lacking motivation.

Wishing a speedy recovery to all of you feeling under the weather.

Any Christmas film recommendations, Netflix please? I must say, I'm not impressed with the Noel Diary so far...

I'm lying on my sofa under a heated blanket. It's my birthday today and though I've been to the gym, I've mostly wasted it with the worst stomach in the world - currently sat trying to eat mash potato cause it's the only thing I can face (trying not to overthink it cause last time I was this sick and could only face mash it was because I was pregnant!)

Had a lie in today until the christmas food shop arrived at 10, my DD and me put it away, had yoghurt and cherries for breakfast. Put on some washing, and had a bath. Tided up my bedroom.

Ate mousaka and veg for lunch but realised too late that the oven wasnt on as I put it in after my DD had used it and didnt realise she had put it off at the mains, it still had residual heat from when she cooked her meal. I didnt realise until I was half way through my luke warm meal, so far no reaction to it so hopefully I wont die in my sleep tonight from food poisoning.

Cleared up the kitchen, checked my bank account online and panicked as hadn't been paid, called my employer who team called me back, they insisted I had been paid, I insisted I hadn't, went online and told them the account number, they said thats not your account. I then realised I had opened a savings account with my bank and they had rejiggled them so when I opened the app my savings account appeared (not much in there at the moment) rather than my current account, apologised and felt foolish (not for the first time) it didn't help that whilst on teams on my laptop my phone died, so when they asked me to check my account I went on the laptop instead of the app, then it asked me for a number it had sent to my dead phone for security!!! I was relaying everything back to the HR manager as I went. After the call, my DD who had been listening started laughing at me and said I sounded so anxious and ridiculous....thanks for that glad it made someone laugh

Now after all that excitement I am waiting for The Traitors final, an early morning for me tomorrow as have a blood test

PS Ava is the cutest dog though. Jealous of those with a cat cuddled up next to them. I miss my neighbour's cats back home, but I did get to meet the new dog of our family friends toady. She's a rescue Stabyhoun and the cutest thing ever.

Currently eating baked camembert in front of the telly 😋

AnyFucker · 22/12/2022 20:36

Having cheese, biscuits and port for dinner on my own

Trying to ignore my excruciating back pain. Watching a Keira Knightly movie on Netflix.

cheapskatemum · 22/12/2022 20:39

Watching Man City v Liverpool. I'll wrap the stocking presents tomorrow. That's still a day earlier than I usually manage Wink

I've never had baked camembert but it's something I've wanted to try for so long! I'm funny with cheese - massive lover of MILD cheddars, brie, philadelphia, an absolute dairylea fiend, but cannot STAND anything stronger. How would you say it compares in terms of strength and flavour? This might be the year I finally try it!

mamabear715 · 22/12/2022 20:40

Checked what's on tv (freeview) & it's dire. So here I am. Yes, got netflix but it overwhelms me.. it takes me forever to scroll through to find something, I get bored, go back to freeview & watch endless news.. ;-)
Other than that, I've been sale hunting online. Usual for me at this time of year.. I buy enough clothes to last for at least the next 12 months while they are reduced. Actually, might start a thread about it!

healthadvice123 · 22/12/2022 20:44

Just deciding if to wrap presents or do tomorrow as have a day off
Might have early night and do tomorrow, found put several at work have covid and bern sat with them so hoping I can avoid it , so thinking rest might be a good idea ( i know that will make no difference) but a good nights sleep and not thinking about it might help me relax as i almost talk myself into symptoms

Bonjovispyjamas · 22/12/2022 20:45

@ElleBelleLou I love it, but I love strong cheeses, so it may not be for you, camembert is quite strong. Mild cheeses are tasteless to me, even mature cheddar isn't strong enough, I have to go for extra mature, or even better...vintage cheddar😋I'm totally obsessed with baked camembert, had it 4 times in a week recently 🤣 Maybe give it a go though, you never know, you might like it.

Reminds me of raw mushrooms, less ripe and cold can be a bit chalky -better at room temp
