Someone just broke into my garden.

I'm sat here shaking and chain smoking and wide awake when I have a 7 am start in the morning.

IDK even know why I'm shaking or full of adrenaline. They never took anything or threatened me. The dog chased them off. I only saw a trainer vanish over the fence and then heard someone screaming for help.

The Police have been and can't find anyone.

Also next door are gonna hate me in the morning because the dog barked and growled for a good 20 minutes while the men were stuck in the garden behind mine. I didn't want to bring him back inside in case they tried to get back into my garden or neighbouring gardens.

No wonder you are shook up. Good for your dogs, even the little one shouting from the back step. Hope the scum get picked up by police. Male with no trousers is bound to be on camera somewhere. 😂

They won’t be back. Houses with dogs are not worth the risk to them. I have the most enormous dog. He’s a soft and cuddly teddy bear, his breed is famous for their affinity with children. But galloping out of the darkness he would be terrifying. He’s 12 stone. Think Gmork from Never Ending Story.

Your dog saved the day. And the fact that the stupid twat was crying and begging to have his pants ripped off is frankly, hilarious.

@Herejustforthisone Newfie? They are so gorgeous.

KloppsTeeth · 17/12/2022 01:38

I hope you’re ok today @Frequency

Furries · 17/12/2022 01:52

@Herejustforthisone - ooh, Leonberger? I love a big teddy bear dog.

TheOinkySplit · 17/12/2022 05:56

That's so scary!
Lol at him screaming to rip his pants off though!
Please give your dogs a big hug from me 💐

heldinadream · 17/12/2022 06:03

Well done doggies!
I hope you're peacefully asleep now @Frequency but later on when you've recovered I think we need a good pic of the fury heros!

Paq · 17/12/2022 06:36

Hope you got some sleep OP.

Any chance of a picture of the doggy hero of the hour?

Buildingthefuture · 17/12/2022 06:45

Oh, that’s awful for you but well done doggos! I read somewhere that the biggest deterrent to a burglar was a dog and you’ve proved that to be true Smile
Back in in the summer, we were woken up at 3am to the sound of our side gate opening. I just had time to think WTF is that before the deafening eruption of noise from my dogs began (I have lots, including Chis, but bigger ones too) The dogs were in the house but the noise they made was unlike anything they normally do. They sounded completely different, frantic and very cross. I’ve got a big 8 stone boy, who is soft as muck, but he broke out his best from his belly, big deep bark…he sounded murderous!!!!
Watching the CCTV back, this (thieving Twat) sneaks through the side gate, hears the dogs, freezes for a second, then legs it!!! He won’t be back I’m sure!!

Here are the tiny heroes. I never got any sleep. The terrier had a sneezing fit when I finally got to bed and kept me awake but the night staff taking over me from me kindly agreed to come in early.

Looking at the pictures of him with his soppy eyes and ridiculous ears I really don't see how anyone could be scared of him but they don't really do justice to his size or the tremendous noise his bark can make.

If I were your neighbour I'd be buying your doggo a big box of treats! And you a box of chocs or bottle of wine.

Hope you're ok today & managed some sleep.

TheLittlestLightOnTheXmasTree · 17/12/2022 12:59

Hoping the burglar didn't injure himself and then try and put in a claim

That sort of thing happens!

What breed is your dog?

TheLittlestLightOnTheXmasTree · 17/12/2022 13:00

And yes a big well done to your doggos!

Frequency · 17/12/2022 13:08

We actually have no clue what breed he is. His mother, according to the farmer who abandoned him in Spain, was a Beagle. The rescue I got him from guessed he was a beagle/rottweiler mix but I can't see rottweiler in him.

My vet's best guess is a mix of beagle and other scent hound breeds with a bit of pitbull based on his height/weight/temperament. He's taller and heavier than a beagle but lacks the girth and massive head of a rottweiler.

He's uttterly insane. He has no off button. His day consists of running around the garden and bringing me toys and whining at the Chi to play with him.

My dog is soft as muck too, loves everyone but was perfectly happy to bite the man who grabbed hold of me in the street. I'd never even heard her snarl before. They'll protect their family, especially the soft, loving ones. As far as they're concerned, you're theirs and they'll defend you.

I think the guy planned to mug me tbh as he grabbed me from behind with his arm across my neck. Obviously didn't see the dog as she is black, it was dark and she was a fair way ahead of me. 🤣 She really went for him, drew blood and chased him right down the road until I shouted for her to come back. I like to think he reevaluate his life choices while he was running.

Paq · 17/12/2022 14:31

Those EARS 😀😍

BringMeTea · 17/12/2022 14:53

OMG adorable dogs OP! Heroes!
And @Bigdamnheroes wtf! Sorry that happened to you and well done your doggy!
