Solidarity with striking nurses

A thread to express solidarity with any nurses taking strike action today.

Listening to your concerns it sounds like you are working in intolerable conditions, trying to cover for inadequate staffing and facing increasing abuse from the public for being unable to provide the service that they need.

Given the huge number of nursing vacancies, if the government continues to treat the nursing profession with contempt when it comes to pay negotiations, I'd like to know what their plan is to rectify the situation. If nurses have been driven to take strike action, then something needs to change.

A healthy workforce is vital to the economy and refusing to invest in nurses and allowing the NHS to fall apart does not seem like a good plan to secure the economic future of the country.

The government seems more concerned with stopping people from being allowed to strike than it does in actually addressing the root causes of the strike action. We need them to invest in the public sector for the benefit of all, rather than spending their remaining time in government protecting their own interests.

@Wazzzzzuuuuuuup would you agree too many resources are wasted? Unnecessary/irrelevant stat man to tick boxes, data collection that has no purpose, people in roles that aren't needed.

Solidarity with nurses! Xxx

Soladiatory from me I'm hoping the nurses really pull together. I've heard some say they can't afford to strike or they don't have the heart to do it.

Scotland and New Zealand imparticular got a very good pay rise ... so if they can do it
.... you can!

Total solidarity. Totally shameful how the government is behaving towards the nurses..

Support from me. I’ve been a nurse for 25 years and I’ve never seen it as bad as the last 3years. I only survive as I have fabulous employers (General practice) who really do their utmost to look after our mental health and well being.

I got drafted back into secondary care for 12 months last year due to my skill set and it was like a war zone. I could not believe the challenges my nurse colleagues were facing day in and day out. The staff were on their knees and patient safety was comprised ( and that was putting it mildly) . I have utmost respect for all my colleagues and support them 100%.

Absolute solidarity from me.
Nurses died because they provided care to patients during the pandemic.

100% solidarity from me.

If you are angry at the strikers, you are angry at the wrong people.
