Hot water bottle appreciation thread

Also electric blankets, heated throws and any other portable personal warming device. I have just one humble HWB but I was so glad of it this afternoon during my post-luncheon forty winks. It didn't stay hot for very long but that's likely my fault for not using hot enough water. Such a comfort during this Baltic spell 🙂.

I have a HWB with a fur cover. It’s fairly large in size. I always have a fleece blanket on top of my regular duvet as that retains the heat too. Very toasty when it’s cold in the room.
My dds have flocked bed sheets, they love them. Added to fleece duvets.

Thank You OP
You reminded me that DS wanted a hot water bottle after he spotted the one I got from DM.
Love it.

I have just had it behind me at the bottom of my back and now it is beside me. Feeling pretty toastie as also got a hoodie/blanket on.
Heating has been on a litle while earlier but its cooling down now.

I bought some for us yesterday (with fluffy covers). We pop them into bed whilst we’re brushing our teeth and when we get in to bed it’s lovely and toasty.

have also bought an electric throw which has been a godsend WFH.

I wrap my children's pyjamas around them and then put it in their beds. When they get dressed the clothes are nice and warm and so is their bed.

Yesterday I saw a cover in a charity shop, made from a real sheep fleece (leather inside and very curly wool fleece outer to cuddle)

I saw one for sale in John Lewis or Selfridges for £65!

Boiling water isn't good for HWBs. By all means boil the kettle but leave it to cool for a few minutes before using the water.

Why waste energy boiling kettle though? Thats so crazy! Just heat it to nicely warm and pour straight in.

I was jolly glad of my HWB last night. The temperature was minus 6 when I turned in. Thankfully, it had risen to a balmy minus 2 by sunrise ! Bottle still quite warm and not leaking either.

both mine are pre warming the bed as we speak. bedroom is unheated but under 2 blankets and with the hwb it's nice.

In my younger nightclubbing days my mum used to put a hot water bottle in my bed before I got home, or turn my electric blanket on if it was on the bed. Drunk me was very grateful. On one occasion I had a friend visiting for the weekend and she got a hot water bottle in her bed too, she thought it was amazing because her mum never did it for her!

I love my hwb, I have fibromyalgia and it really eases aches and pains, often have it propped behind my upper back. Love my heated throw that I got from Amazon in their Black Friday deals, a lovely soft fleece one for under twenty pounds. Also fingerless gloves have been a game changer for me, can’t stand having cold hands. Thick Nordic ankle socks have made such a difference too. Stay warm and snuggly everyone.
