And you're doomed if you don't notice that you have to add it to the order. There's no going back!

I ordered table delivery, then went to use the dispenser thingys but they were empty, so when the guy brought the food over, I asked if we could have some sauce please. He said they're 10p each now sorry, I said no problem but I only have card. He said you have to add it to the food order, you can't just order sauce.

Sauce-less fries are very sad.

(Obviously light hearted, I know we have lots of bigger problems right now, but this is right up there with 60p carrier bags!)

I think there may be a shortage or back log of some sorts of sauce at the moment. I was in a Mcdonalds in NI about 2 weeks ago and dispenser was empty. I had 4 kids with me and asked for red sauce at the counter and they gave me 2. I explained I had 4 kids could I get another 2 and they said it was the last of their sauce!!

Not relevant to the sauce problem but I was in mc’ds the other day and a guy came over and asked if everything was ok with our meals! Was like a proper restaurant

It’s always been chargeable, but most didn’t. If you order on the app/touchscreen you have to add it and it’s 10p.

You used to get one pot free with an extra value meal, further pots were supposed to be paid for.

Then, I noticed you'd only get one with a nugget meal, but you'd get one given if you asked. Occasionally a jobsworth would make you pay, but usually it was still 1 free with a meal.

Now, I noticed you even have to tick the box for 1 fucking sachet of ketchup and all pots are charged for, 50c!!

Our local council instructed chip shops that counter staff must put salt and vinegar on rather than letting customers do it themselves as a health initiative claiming when customers do it, they are likely to use too much!

I find stuff like this so patronising. Like I’m already having a takeaway, I can organise it as part of a balanced diet by myself as a grownup. Bit like KFC only allowing sugar free drinks. If I wanted a healthy meal I would have made one at home.

The app shows which sauce is free

Their fries taste bitter ...thought they gave the sauces as compensation for the horrific taste

I'm a customer experience leader for McDonald's and my (company) store doesn't charge for sauce. It's a franchise thing ime.

The bulk sauce comes in non recyclable plastic bags that are a massive pita. I hate changing them!

In a grey shirt? Most likely a customer experience leader! All we do is make sure the customer journey is smooth and everyone has an enjoyable visit (easier said than done, usually!) and incudes checking in with customers, handing out PDP (crayons, colouring, hats, balloons) to kids, fixing problems... It's a great job but I'm knackered at the end of my shift!

None of those are free for us anymore. They are 10p now

Tangy tomato that sometimes comes with the cheesebites. Some servers will give it for free.

My next favourite is curry and then sweet and sour.

Yes I was a bit depressed eating them unsauced! It was the inability to let me pay 10p for it afterwards that annoyed me the most ... fries need sauce!
