I find questions like this a bit odd. Knowing what someone's income is, without knowing their outgoings seems pointless to me. For instance, I get around £28k a year, retired with a good occupational pension. But my outgoings are minimal. No debts so just utilities to pay for.

so £28k would mean I'm part of the struggling middle but my outgoings mean I'm in a v comfortable position, especially in a society where nurses (for fucks sake) have to use food banks

The OP asked what people earn, not what their pensions are. We all know that most people have fewer outgoings once they’re retired.

@Cherryblossoms85

Sorry no idea what you’re talking about but best of luck. Different strokes for different folks as they say.

When I left school I tried a finance entry role as I thought it sounded sophisticated. I was very depressed by the end of week 1 and on the way to the bus stop home I walked into my local British Army branch and the rest is history as they say. I don’t serve anymore though.

Band 5 nurse, if I wasn't a single mum with limited Childcare options for a disabled 12 yr old I'd earn 28k for working full time but I can only work 28hrs per week. I get a little unsocial as I work Oncall.

Oh no maybe not, that's a bloke. RBS CEO maybe? Our CEO is a woman but she wants nothing like 1.4 million.
