Do people who work in the back rooms of charity shops get first dibs on what's donated?

I'm thinking about working in a charity shop one or two days to keep warm and it occured to me today to wonder if the staff nab all the best stuff? Do you know? Have you worked in one?

I saw a television show set in ones few years back and they find a LOT of grim stuff.

Yes, but that’s the pay off for having to sift through bags of crap. Literally. You never know what is in those bags. Used, soiled underwear is on the tame end.

Never do it without gloves on.
