How much money would you need to quit work forever?

Musing over this as I am on the way to work 😂

Everyone has different circumstances. I would need quite a lot to be able to never have to work again, I'm 33 and don't own a house or have many savings, and only have a small private pension. I think I'd need about £30million to feel comfortable quitting work permanently at this stage of my life.

You need to work out what Captital sum you need to generate income.
You would not spend your 30 mil,you would spend the income that generated

Well not much really. We gave up work at 46. Owned our own home which we sold to finance a life abroad. Came back over a decade ago to a slightly smaller house. Have lived off our savings until our pensions kicked in. We have a nice life but aren't materialistic at all.

Around 2million to be fine - that's 40k a year until I'm 80.

For a lovely life I'd say 3-4million.
