Was planning to go to the Postal museum, but stupidly forgot to check it's actually open. Thought about the Tower, but it's very pricey. Is it worth it? I like museums, and interesting places.

Transport Museum in Covent Garden, then have a wander
Huntarian Museum
Museum of Childhood
Combine Imperial War Museum and The Foundling Museum
Tate Modern
National Gallery
Portrait Gallery
See if there's anything of interest at the Royal Academy and have an amble round Fortnums, cut down Jermyn Street and have a walk across the Mall and into St James's Park
Have a gander round Southwark Cathedral, possibly take in a service, look at one of the little markets adjacent and then walk along South Bank taking in the views and the walk, cross Westminster Bridge have a look at Big Ben and Parliament, double back along the river - have a cold coffee at Somerset House and take in the Courtauld.

I'd just go shopping. Get off at Tottenham Court Road cut down the back, back entrance into M&S, out again to twirl round Liberty's: Kate Spade, Coach, Co's (and others) on Regent Street, turn right onto Piccadilly, do Waterstones and Fortnums, (there are some nice coffee shops along Piccy), walk past the Ritz and catch a bus to Knightsbridge. I'd just do Harvey Nicks and then walk along Kensimgton Gardens to Kensington High Street. You'll get your steps in and hopefully go home happy.

Combining the Imperial War Museum and the Foundling Museum might be a bit tricky, they are not exactly next door to each other!

I have a feeling the Portrait Gallery is still closed but would be very happy to hear it is open again.

While in the Piccadilly area don’t miss Santa Maria Pharmacy for very expensive but glorious smelly stuff.

And if you do get down to Kensington then Leighton House has recently reopened after a big refurb, it’s a glorious building and it looks as though they have got a decent coffee shop at last!

You are quite right viques I always for some reason think the foundling museum is near the Imperial War Museum. Not the first time I've done it.
