£5 secret Santa that isn't tat

I hate Secret Santa. I find the public giving of gifts with colleagues very awkward.

But I didn't opt out in time and now have to produce a gift around £5 for next week.

The recipient is a really lovely lady in her 50s but I don't know her well because of wfh. I really don't want to get anything plastic, "funny" or food.

Is there anything?

£5 in an envelope.
No tat
Nothing wasted
Value for money.

You’d be best opting out of any Secret Santa I reckon 🙄

I know you said no food, but if you change your mind - I'd buy a cheese truckle, crackers and chutney

Travel mug?

A gift card for a cafe nearest your workplace to say " have a drink on me"

I’m in my fifties and think something to plant or candles are saying you think I’m ancient. Give me a £5 Amazon voucher and I would add to it for something I want

An amaryllis bulb in a pot. They’re around £5 in most supermarkets.

There's some in Waitrose at the moment in pretty glass pots

I know gambling might not be an option but I've previously found out someone's favourite football team or equivalent and put the fiver on them to win in next match. Then put the betting slip in a little box.

Not ideal in all scenarios but personalised and keeps the gift going a bit longer.

I am in that age group and would love

chocolate - is food really a big no?
bulbs or a small plant (how is she commuting? Nothing worse than to bring something large on a crowded train)
Body shop handcream

Book token
Scratch card

I wouldn't want:
Mugs
Water bottle
travel mug/reusable cup
Books - you will never match my preferences

@HairyMcLarie got it 100%
Stop the tat giving and passing it on.
