Online GCSE maths tutor recommendations

Year 11 Dd struggles with maths. She thinks she’s got it but when it comes to applying it during tests she tends to do pretty badly. We’ve decided to bite the bullet and try to get her some help on the lead up to her GCSEs but I’d really appreciate some recommendations as I’ve no idea who’s good.

My cousin just used Tutor Hunt and found a tutor called Will through it but it was local and so that obviously affected the search. He owns Maths Concierge so I’d look at them

We use a company called Tayberry (I originally saw them recommended on MN) and have been really impressed - we've been with them about 6 months now and my DD has gone from level 4/5 to level 8 in her last tests

I would recommend you Zac from Edumentors.co.uk. He's amazing with students, my DD loves him.

I would definitely recommend Kip McGrath Ely. They offer really good online lessons in Math. The people who teach are lovely and very sympathetic to children who are struggling. really helped my niece overcome her exam anxiety.

Just come across this post, if you haven't found the right tutor yet i'm happy to schedule an exploratory meeting with you and the student. I run Making the Grade Ltd, a tuition company which personally matches tutors to students based on a range of criteria. making-the-grade.co.uk

I don't know how committed to a personal tutor you are but I recommend seeing if she likes cognitoedu.org/home.html especially if money's tight. Video's and questions and a progress tracker for maths and science. Spending an hour (or two) a night on that is in my experience likely to be better than an hour a week with a tutor.

Hi OP,

My sister is really excellent, great with young people, she is a vet student and tutors maths and science. I don’t want to post her details here as it’s outing for me but if you message me I’ll pass them on x
