Covid - what was it like for you?

I tested yesterday as had quite a bad cough. Result was positive. Cough seemed a little better today, was feeling sicky on and off, but not too bad.

Now the cough is back to how it was, and I'm achy with a sore head.

Just wondering what the likelihood is of feeling even worse tomorrow. I'm due my period, so not sure what's actually what, cough aside!

If tomorrow is day three, it can't really get any worse, can it?

I think I've
Got it but I don't think I do the test's well as I just can't tolerate that thing up my nose

I've been in bed constantly. Headache , earaches, back ache sinus pain , feel spaced out , breathing hard going , chesty cough and wheezing really badly , struggled to breath Sunday early hours and 111 sent ambulance, who out me in a nebuliser. I've slept all day today on and off , through coughing fits , gp rang today and prescribed antibiotics for chest . I dont have asthma but im really wheezy. I haven't got the energy to get a
Shower or wash hair or cook . Can barely make a cup of tea .

Got absolutely eaten alive in here Sunday because 111 sent ambulance. But couldn't speak in full sentences, and my o2 levels dropped when I moved , should have gone to a&e but I live alone and have dogs so couldn't leave . Been in bed ever since . Family not checked on me once .work keep ringing to see if I'm alive . Manager seems worried that he can hear my wheezing - I think I sound quite bad . I'm going back to sleep now ....

Like a bad cold, but nothing too bad

Legoninjago1 · 28/11/2022 16:27

First time in 2021 - it wasn't great - not terrible though. Like a bad cold. One day feeling properly shit. Loss of taste and smell for 10 days was depressing. Annoying cough for about a week.
Second time early 2022 - absolute non event. Very mild cold symptoms.

Had COVID 1st time back in February, was in bed with severe headache, sore back/body aches and felt pretty fluey for 2-3 days.

Just had it again earlier this month, had the sorest throat ever, like razor blades when swallowing, it lasted 2 full days then back to normal.

I've had no vaccinations.

Beezknees · 28/11/2022 16:37

Had it twice, both mild. Once in August 2021, after 1 vaccine. Completely lost sense of smell and taste, bit of a temperature, snotty nose.

Second time in July this year, aftet 3 vaccines. Sneezing a lot and felt a bit rough, but no temperature and didn't lose smell and taste that time.

@Libmama I had the same since last Tuesday. On antibiotics for sinus infection too but so unwell. Only tested positive this morning (for first time). Ds has felt ill since Friday and Dh since last night and both tested positive this morning too. Crazy.

Hope everything goes well for you.

Yep I was positive this morning too! I’m really hoping I’m negative before I go into labour. Hope you feel better soon!

TooGood2BeFalse · 28/11/2022 17:10

I had it for the first and hopefully only time in May this year. I had a very deep croaky voice and a stuffed nose, but I have had worse flus before.However...I think I was overly cocky.I worked straight through (from home) doing 9 hrs days plus looking after 2 kids alone as SP. The next week after testing negative I absolutely crashed with an exhaustion I've never had even in the newborn stage. Months later I still have some lack of taste and wake up congested every morning - but it disappears like clockwork by 11ish every morning. I wish I'd rested tbh.

nicky2512 · 28/11/2022 18:09

Oh no @Libmama that’s rubbish. Fingers crossed that you make a quick recovery. Please do update on your new arrival - this time 17 years ago I was waiting on the arrival of my second (Ds who was born on Christmas Day).

HazeyjaneIII · 28/11/2022 19:01

At the moment ds (12) has it (for the second time) he is really unwell and we are in hospital. It's so much worse for him this time round (he's vaccinated and boosted and was due his second booster next week)

nicky2512 · 28/11/2022 19:15

Such a worry @HazeyjaneIII Thinking about you and hoping he makes a quick recovery.

Horrific. I started with a sore throat and the next day woke with a temperature of 41. Regular paracetamol kept it down a bit. I ached all over and I couldn't walk - at all. I had the worst pain down my back that felt like it was locked at right angles. I couldn't stand up for a week. I had to get on my hands and knees to go to the toilet and pull myself across the floor. It's a 3 meter walk to the bathroom and it took me 15 minutes to get there and back and would wipe me out, so much so I would then sleep for hours. I don't really remember much other than that. It was truely awful. I remember from day 4 not having anyone to look after my 3yo so that was fun.

My DH had a temp, cough and sore throat and slept for 2 days solid and was then better, but lost his hearing.

pattihews · 28/11/2022 20:44

Were you vaccinated?

Roseybaby · 28/11/2022 20:59

April 1st this year 🤦🏼‍♀️ it was snowing and also the day we moved house. Had my suspicions but we was moving. Got worse as day went on but managed to stay out of peoples way. Tested the next day and was then in bed absolutely wiped out for 48 hours. Horrendous cough for couple weeks . Now I don't know if it's connected but a few months after I noticed how tired I was all the time. Having to have cheeky wfh naps. Mentioned it to doc on another appointment and now have to have b12 injections indefinitely 🤷🏼‍♀️ I don't know if connected but odd!
