If you were at primary school in the 80's did you wear plimsoles?

Somehow got chatting about footwear at school. I asked why the kids weren't wearing plimsolls. We always wore them inside. Apparently they didn't. I thought everyone did!!?

We called them daps (south west) but only for PE, normal school shoes otherwise.
Funnily enough, my daughter asked me the other day why they wear shoes inside, when we don't at home!

Yes, we wore daps for PE in the 80s and DD wears them now. Her class wear a variety of different styles, but in my day they were all plain black plimsolls with an elastic panel across the front.
