Why the f do Evri leave parcels on your doorstep, in the dark & rain at night & not knock?

Ffs. I just had an email telling me my parcel had been posted. No it hasn't I thought. I'm sitting here in silence at home & the door/letterbox definitely never went. I look outside just to be sure & there's my parcel just waiting to be nicked. Just knock, how hard is it? I want to leave a 1* review but I daren't in case they lose/damage another parcel accidentally in future.

Clearly it’s to save time and therefore hit targets. Covid rules opened the door (pun not intended) to allowing it to happen.

I don’t like it either and much prefer the drivers who ring the bell even if they walk away and I end up calling thank you across the road. But some don’t even do that!

I am waiting for them to pull their finger out and deliver 2 parcels; useless useless company. Didn't even know who I ordered them they used them, otherwise I'd have not bothered ordering

Apparently they have had trouble accessing my address….liars.

They could knock or ring the bell though

I think it depends on your delivery driver. Mine is fantastic, always leaves it in my safe place if not in or hides it well.

I am so fed up with delivery companies of all stripes leaving things outside in the rain, sometimes for days on end. They often deliver before they say on the website, so I'm not there, and parcels can sit for ages. RM/Parcelforce are just as bad, and almost never take things back to the sorting office for collection. Even when they do, ours is only open for an hour a day at the crack of dawn, so it's not ideal, but it's better than leaving things on the step.

My evri delivery driver is fab!

At least it was on your doorstep. My DPD parcel yesterday was marked as handed to me (by name!!!) - half an hour of hunting and it was found on the pavement beyond our back gates!!!

It is Amazon that is left outside.

My postie used to do this until I made a complaint.

Clearly the quicker they do their round the earlier they finish.

Maybe they know you're on Mumsnet and don't want to trigger you by having the temerity to knock on the door

have a regular purchase delivered every 2 weeks i have now stopped shopping with them as Evri are there courier are useless im shopping elsewhere now

Trying to return a parcel. Yesterday they said we weren’t in and we both were!

Today tracking says they will be here between 1600-1700. Still waiting and still in!

Just what is wrong with them! Why would they lie about coming? Do they want to do repeat visits because they earn more?

I have a camera outside my front door which sends a notification now whenever it senses movement! I actually see the delivery drivers just chuck the parcels on the ground, they don't ever bother knocking! At least I know it's there though!

Funny thing today was I received an email from Evri saying my parcel has been delayed - weird cos they delivered it at 4pm 🤦‍♀️ I'm not waiting for anything else!

My colleague’s dad is my Evri man and he drives around with his wife, she stops outside but leaves the engine running and he pelts like Usain Bolt to the door with the parcel, plonks it, knocks and runs back to the car.

They must be under a lot of pressure.

I find Amazon the problem - parcels constantly left outside sometimes on doorstep or thrown behind a bush in the pouring rain with no knock or ring on the door - to ring a bell takes 2 seconds they don't have to wait just ring the bell or if I say to leave it in the garage, again just left outside in full view of all and sundry sometimes all day if I am out - I always nominate a safe place not that it does any good.

I agree. They are awful. The rebrand from Hermes to Evri doesn’t fool me. Terrible terrible company with appalling standards
