Waitrose own brand bin liners, and they always break, and when you get them out it's super easy to poke a hole in them.

Ivy in pots. I’ve loads to give away free!

Theyorkshirelass · 21/11/2022 13:59

Superdrug’s own brand dry shampoo
it does nothing at all to mop up greasy hair

aldis own brand dry roasted peanuts-foul bullets of nothing

waitrose/Asda onion ring crisps-dry nothingness
I stock up on tescos if I’m in one

TheSnugglyDuckling · 21/11/2022 14:03

Ready Break - it’s literally just oats in a smaller package for more money. I just can’t understand why anyone buys it.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 21/11/2022 14:13

The horrible watermelon scented toilet roll they sell in Asda. it’s so strong that the scent hits you before you even get to the Aisle.

It's really fine and can be used in baking. I regularly use it to makes kids cakes and biscuits a bit healthier

devuskums · 21/11/2022 15:45

@thinkponk48 oooh I like the sound of this, have you got any recipes you could recommend please?!

No it's just trail and error. I normally replace 25% of the flour with ready break. Specially good in pancakes

but if you want finer oats you can just put normal oats in a blender?? I used to do this when my DD was a tiny just-weaning baby!

Where did you learn about that?
Can you only use it to replace plane flour ? I assume it can't replace self raising?

My dad says Ready Brek is like a shredded plastic bag 🤣

Meal replacement shakes

DarkMatternix · 21/11/2022 16:01

Yep, I'm coeliac so often make oat flour by blending gluten free oats. Works great for apple crumble topping (i normally do half gf flour, half oats)

thinkponk48 · 21/11/2022 16:02

It's just something I tried with my fussy eater. Worked a treat. Just replace about a quarter of the flour.

ColinRobinsonsfamiliar · 21/11/2022 16:07

Spam.
Fray Bentos.
Apparently they do sell. According to my Pils store cupboards.

Mushroo · 21/11/2022 16:09

Homemade crafts. There’s definitely a market clearly but whenever I wander round a craft fair it all just seems like absolute tat / clutter.

PinkButtercups · 21/11/2022 16:11

Anything with 'Mrs Hinch' plastered all across it. It could be some smelly cleaning products.
Clothes.
Plates.
People go nuts for it!

Those signs that you are supposed to decorate your house with "soak" and the like.

fruitsaladsweets · 21/11/2022 16:12

Branded versions of paracetamol and ibuprofen.

Panadol, Nurofen etc. (the basic versions)

They are literally the same drug you can get for 20p on the next shelf down.

Because you can microwave it in 90 seconds, vs a good 15-20 min for proper porridge on the hob with whole oats.

AmoebicSquid · 21/11/2022 16:17

Scented sanitary towels.
I can tell by the strong scent when women are wearing them.
Also, fast track to itchiness!

BelfastSmile · 21/11/2022 16:17

There's a shop near me (think Home Bargains in terms of what they stock, but a local family-owned version) which has an entire aisle dedicated to fake flowers. I always wonder who's buying them in such quantities that it's worth dedicating a whole aisle to them.

Also I often wonder who buys all the lint rollers in IKEA. They seem to stock thousands of them. Surely you buy one and it lasts a decade?!

thejadefish · 21/11/2022 16:19

I've nothing against jam tarts, but I've never known anyone that buys and eats them. Presumably there is a market for them as most places sell them, just not to anyone I know lol. Do they eat them with a cup of tea, or as a dessert with a dollop of custard? No idea.

YorkieTheRabbit · 21/11/2022 16:20

Twee signs, bathroom- Get Naked, really do you need to tell people to get undressed before having a bath 😳
gin/beer/wine o’clock

Limited edition scented cleaning products

Phrenologistsfinger · 21/11/2022 16:20

Oh, carcinogenic home scents like plug ins or those aggressively scented candles (Yankee). They smell toxic!
