I quite often have a song that will make me change radio channel when it comes on

This month it's Music for a Sushi Restaurant by Harry Styles, I don't know what it is about the song but my left hand just snakes out and punches a different pre-set on the car radio whenever I hear it. All of his other songs have been ok-ish up to now.

Last month it was Afraid to Feel by LF Systems.

Quite often it's an Ed Sheeran song, I really like some of his (usually the ones that are claimed to have been stolen from someone else, strange that) and really can't tolerate some of his others.

What are your 'can't listen' songs?

Funnily enough, I opened the thread thinking Ed Sheeran. But nothing triggers my change station reflex like that Killers song, Are we humans (or are we dancers?)

Anything by Lizzo.

Her last 'tune' played on my radio was a bloody rip of Wet Leg. Why??

MissFlimpkin · 18/11/2022 19:47

@peekabooatthezoo hahahah

megletthesecond · 18/11/2022 19:50

The new Arctic monkeys and nikki minaj songs do my head in. Although I think I'm almost safe and they've dropped off the playlist now.

Propertyporn · 18/11/2022 19:50

🎶Take the shackles off my feet so I can da-🎶 Aaarrgh, Fuck off!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 18/11/2022 19:53

Scott Treadmills 🤭🤣🤣

Frazzledstar1 · 18/11/2022 19:55

Oh god i actually like some of these songs, lord help me 🤣

For me it’s break my soul by Beyoncé. For some reason it grates on me and I usually like her music.

Agree the new Lewis Capaldi one is crap but I caught myself singing to it the other day before hastily skipping to ANY other station. Perhaps I am beyond help.

BobbyBobbyBobby · 18/11/2022 19:56

Anything by Swift, Styles, Sheeran, Eyelash, Adele, Dua Leper, Beyoncé, Little Mix, Sam Smith, Ears and Ears, P Diddly, J Lo’s Love don’t cost a thing - cat on a hot tin roof, Cardi B, Lizzo, Nicky Minaj, Anne Marie, Liam Payne, One Direction - most modern shite really.

IntentionalError · 18/11/2022 19:57

Anything by Adele. Not only is she the most overrated singer ever, her songs are unlistenable dirges, still bleating on and on about the bloke who dumped her a decade ago. The poor guy had a lucky escape.

dropthevipers · 18/11/2022 20:01

I regard myself as a pretty easygoing bloke and slow to anger, but the closest I get to going postal with a queen Anne chair leg is anytime "lady in red" comes on. Drives me funking mental.

Hahaha I share your hatred- it actually makes me feel a weird sort of car sick from it being played over and over and over on car journeys.
O goodness- Chris Rea- La Passione that makes me feel even worse.... 🤮

Bohemian Rhapsody

Thank you I’m not then alone then anything by them I hate now.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 18/11/2022 20:05

God yes, Lady in Red was awful. And I feel that Ed Sheehan and Beyonce singing Perfect was the Lady in Red of the 21st century. Perfect was also an auto-radio-changer. I have three presets that I use most often and once Perfect came on and, when I tried the other two stations, Perfect was on them too. Shock I added another pre-set after that.

Anything by take that. Anodyne shit. Love shack. Quite like Coldplay

YouMadeABear · 18/11/2022 20:08

Sam. Smith.

WarmSausageTea · 18/11/2022 20:15

The new Rihanna song; she sounds like she can barely sit upright. And I don’t care that her voice isn’t especially good generally, but good grief, it sounds ropey here. Also pretty much anything by Bruno Mars.

Oldies; Abracadabra, Centrefold, Wonderwall and the Pina Colada song - though I heard Rupert Holmes interviewed a little while ago, and he seemed like a top bloke.

SmugglersHaunt · 18/11/2022 20:17

So many. Lizzo, Lewis Capaldi (oh my god - what a racket), Sia (my absolute worst. I actually feel rage when I hear her), Coldplay, Rag and Bone Man, James Arthur. Not sure why I bother listening to the radio tbh

RheanaT · 18/11/2022 20:18

Christina not sure of surname - Jar of Hearts
Robbie Williams - Rock DJ

thistimelastweek · 18/11/2022 20:19

Let Me Go, Gary Barlow
Hello, Lionel Ritchie

the80sweregreat · 18/11/2022 20:20

I like the new Harry number , it has a 60s vibe!
I hate ' love shack ' awful shouty song !
The basement jacks ( sp? ) one that sounds like a dentists drill
I've got a feeling by the black eyed peas

Shunkleisshiny · 18/11/2022 20:20

Anything by Dire Straights, my brother is a musician and he thinks I 'm a heathen.

the80sweregreat · 18/11/2022 20:21

The new Rihanna song sounds like a weird lullaby or something! Out of a horror movie

the80sweregreat · 18/11/2022 20:23

The pina colada song is clever though ..
I love how she gets her revenge by showing up
Most jazz music is awful. Ear ache

RemindMeAgain · 18/11/2022 20:25

Absolutely agree with @A580Hojas, I cannot bear The Beautiful South, thought they were doing the rounds again, didn’t realise there was a new album, will try to avoid. I also hate Sia’s voice especially on Cheap Thrills, she sounds like a singing goat.

Most Placebo songs also make me change to station.
