Currently in the middle of a major depressive episode, am alone as the girls are at their Dad’s for the night, and have done everything in my “self care toolkit” and still feel incredibly low. I need to put the tv on until I can take my bedtime meds and go to bed.

I need to stream something that will get me to bedtime. Can anyone help?

Thank you xxx

danceyourselfdizzy1 · 16/11/2022 23:25

Agree with Schitt's Creek.
Two Doors Down (on iplayer)

colouringindoors · 16/11/2022 23:34

I find Gilmore Girls great comfort tv

Spirini · 16/11/2022 23:43

@colouringindoors snap! I came on to say Gilmore Girls. Love it, so heart warming.

MsInsomniac · 16/11/2022 23:59

Father ted - never fails me
motherland
the windsors on all 4
the IT crowd
my name is earl
black books

Whatwouldnanado · 17/11/2022 00:09

Father Ted, Vicar of Dibley, Peter Kay. How about exercise, yoga with Adrienne on Youtube is good. Somehow following spoken instructions and concentrating hard helps me get out of my head.

beststepforward · 17/11/2022 00:14

Jane the Virgin
On Netflix

DPotter · 17/11/2022 00:21

Derry Girls
Father Brown - It's on the Alibi channel
Dinner ladies

ninetieseyebrows · 17/11/2022 00:32

I'd say Miriam and Alan on C4 fits the brief and is wonderful, but I do love Miriam Margoyles so I may be biased, but doesn't everyone love Miriam?

Motherland
Shitts creek
The good doctor
Bad sisters
Perfectly Legal
White Lotus
Whilst not all strictly feel good, are worth a watch

Tobermoryeveryday · 17/11/2022 04:55

Some easy mentioned on here but I would suggest:

grace and Frankie - netflix
fleabag

kateandme · 17/11/2022 05:14

ive just started YOU on Netflix. Not feel good but I’m distracted and hooked.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 17/11/2022 05:48

We're rewatching My name is Earl at the moment - absolutely brilliant show : don't know many people who've watched it but it's just so silly.

What we do in the shadows is terrific as well.

When I want comfort tv I tend to watch things like The Repair Shop, Renovation Nation, Grand Designs, Bake off or comedies like The IT Crowd, Alan Partridge, Man Down, Frasier etc. ( as well as Ghosts and all the great stuff already mentioned like Motherland, Schitts Creek and Modern Family.)

Taskmaster is a great shout - 14 series to catch up on!

Hullraisers and Bloods are two recent comedy series I really enjoyed.

You is fab but definitely not feel good nor uplifting and actually makes me worry for myself that I'm rooting for Joe!

ThisWormHasTurned · 17/11/2022 09:56

Oh yes, second the Taskmaster recommendation. All the old series are on 4 on demand. Light hearted. The perfect distraction!

Thank you for this thread, OP. I'm also in need of cheering up.

Definitely Motherland, I T Crowd, dinnerladies and Black Books.

Agog that people are recommending Fleabag as a suggestion! It's brilliant but it's hardly feel good!

Going to try Ghosts.

Phineyj · 17/11/2022 18:29

Just thought - what about The Great Pottery Throw down? Channel 4. Think the original series was BBC.
