Currently in the middle of a major depressive episode, am alone as the girls are at their Dad’s for the night, and have done everything in my “self care toolkit” and still feel incredibly low. I need to put the tv on until I can take my bedtime meds and go to bed.

I need to stream something that will get me to bedtime. Can anyone help?

Thank you xxx

When I need comfort I usually go for a good old show like Dinnerladies, Are you being Served or the Good Life or I go for something silly from my teen years like Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Clueless.

Superstore on Netflix. Very easy to watch and very funny. Some great characters.
Benidorm - as above!

MagnoliatheMagnificent · 16/11/2022 20:38

Peter Kay car share if you can find it.

Applecottagetree · 16/11/2022 20:40

Absolutely fabulous, an oldie but a goodie.

Zibbydib · 16/11/2022 20:41

Am I being unreasonable is dark and depressing and for a comedy not very funny (imo!)

If you have Disney plus Only Murders in the building is great!

Only Murders is brilliant and funny and generally quite light, but occasionally quite sad. I wouldn't watch it when feeling emotionally vulnerable.

I'd go for Taskmaster, which never fails to take my mind off my troubles.

She Hulk is entertaining lighthearted nonsense if you like superheroes.

I loved Schitts Creek too.

Derry Girls on All4 and Netflix
Ted Lasso on Apple TV
Mortimer and Whitehouse Gone Fishing and my fave ever series Better Things on iPlayer

Happy viewing.

Ghosts is like a hot water bottle and a cup of tea. It's the warmest, most gentle and heartfelt comedy - it always cheers me up.

WhatDoesTheNannyDo · 16/11/2022 22:25

I agree with Only Murders in the Building on Disney + too.

Passthecoffee · 16/11/2022 22:42

I've just finished Dynasty (the reboot) on Netflix and really enjoyed it.

oishutup · 16/11/2022 22:45

Extraordinary escapes with Sandi Toksvig is lovely and gentle and funny. Always makes me me feel better. Hope you feel better soon.

XanaduKira · 16/11/2022 22:47

Another vote for Ghosts. Especially the first Christmas special.

WeeM · 16/11/2022 23:05

Two Doors Down and Still Game if you’ve never watched them. Always make me chuckle! And I’m also a big fan of Only Murders in the Building.

CalculatingSuccess · 16/11/2022 23:08

Definitely “workin mums” or the letdown. They both used to be on Netflix and are amazingly good!

FindingMeno · 16/11/2022 23:15

I've been revisiting Friends recently, and have remembered how much I love Phoebe.

BeBesideTheSea · 16/11/2022 23:17

The great thing about Ghosts is that they are only 30 mins, so when I am feeling v down and in need of a hug at work, I pop on my headphone and watch one during my lunch break.

they are so multilayered that every time you watch an episode you pick up something new.

DaisyChristina · 16/11/2022 23:18

Friday Night Dinner, it's on All4 catch up.
