Can anyone recommend somewhere for plastic free party bag fillers?

Sweets and a balloon was the best idea I saw.

We did a cupcake and a book- Julia Donaldson books bought in sets, ended up at about £1-2 per book, they seemed to go down really well

Little pack of seeds
Mini notebook and pen
Sweets etc
Wooden/metal keyring

So glad the party bag days are behind me now!

Christmas decoration and a bag of gold coins.

Books are a good idea, but can be a bit subjective. My child wasn't impressed by the one they were given!
Seeds are old hat, we've had tons of them and they don't always get planted.
I'd stick with bubbles, sweets, balloon, stickers/tattoo and cake. If it's girls, then a hair accessory could be good. I put sparkly scrunches in for my daughter's mermaid party and the actual party bag was a glittery mini make up bag.
Is there a theme to the party? Mermaids, dinosaurs etc?

We went to a party where the ‘party bag’ was one of those little plastic cone bags filled with sweets and tied with nice ribbon and a sticker with saying ‘Joseph’s Party’ (not the real name!). This was far better! All got eaten. The parties we’ve been to recently have all been plastic crap though, the message isn’t getting through round here!

thanks for the ideas! Keep them coming!

It's the most stressful part of the party....

I’ve never been a fan of lots of little ‘fillers’ in a party bag, and instead we do just one little gift and a piece of cake.
For DD’s 4th birthday earlier this year we were going to do Mr Men or Little Miss books, but we were beaten to that idea by her friend so we gave sticker books instead.
For DD’s 7th we did these cupcake kits groceries.asda.com/product/cupcakes-kids-baking-mixes/cake-angels-toy-story-4-chocolate-cupcake-kit/1000139371678

At this time of the year I wouldn't be pleased for my children to get a full on sweet cone. They've got sweets from trick or treat still and will get lots in the run up to Christmas from various things.

I bought a big pack of scratch art book marks, big multipacks of chocolate and then put slices of cake in on the day, in organza drawstring bags I got off Facebook marketplace!

We've used or had:
Novelty Christmas socks?
Mainly sweets/cake/food will be most appreciated.
Coloured pencils?
Miniature torches (I got a pack of 20 for £8 on Amazon)
Also, there are a few wooden party bag fillers on Amazon now...

We just did cake. Would people have thought that was tight?

My kids haven’t had a classic party bag for ages, they’re definitely falling out of favour. Best one was a glitter cup (you know those drinking cups filled with water and glitter like a snow globe) filled with sweets. Consumables, not tat that sits around the house, is the way to go. I recently did a party and the kids got Lego glasses and a cupcake, bosh, done.

inappropriateraspberry · 15/11/2022 11:55

@girlmom21 what's wrong? My kids have sweets everyday and it seems like a never ending supply coming into the house from various things. The last thing I want or need is MORE sweets on top of that!

BobbyBobbyBobby · 15/11/2022 11:58

Hard boiled egg and a sixpence.
