What brand of washing machine?

Ours has just broke, was a Samsung bought for £400 and lasted 5 years, 3 months. I'm a bit angry it didn't last very long considering price/brand.

So please can I have recommendations for good long lasting washing machine brands?

The cheaper the better, obviously. Definitely couldn't afford over £400!

This thread is a little old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you’ve landed here looking for washing machine recommendations, we’ve recently updated our best washing machines and best budget washing machines pages with lots of great options, as tried and tested by Mumsnet users. We hope you find them useful. Flowers

I bought an AEG, 16 years ago cost a fortune but it's still going strong. I can't remember what I had before but it kept breaking and a family friend who's in the know said to get an AEG.

Household with 2 teenagers and so washer feels like it's permanently on!

We are on our second Miele machine. The first one lasted over 20 years. I think this one we have now was just over £500 from AO.

AO have a Bosch one at just over £400 and a Miele one at £599. It's worth it when you consider that a call out plus spares for a cheaper model would add up.
