I will be in central London tomorrow afternoon and Mon morning with time on my hands after shopping. I love walking around London but I’d like to branch out to somewhere new. Places I already know quite well:

Oxford Street
Bond Street
Piccadilly
Soho
Covent Garden
St James Park
Mayfair
Grovesnor Sq
Whitehall
Tate Modern and that bit of the South Bank
Lincolns Inn plus that area of the City in general, inc Fleet Street
Kensington
Islington
Richmond

Do you have a favourite area of London? I like old and interesting buildings, little shops etc.

I like Shoreditch - Leadenhall Market and Spitalfields, Brick Lane. Loads of Indie shops, places to eat, fabulous street art from graffiti to sculpture. Leadenhall is upmarket, Brick Lane is quite scruffy, but all of it is interesting.

Canary Wharf along the river to Limehouse is interesting.

I am so grateful and I’m bookmarking this for a future visit because I made two major mistakes with this one- the first was I packed way too heavy an overnight bag which meant my appetite for walking was reduced and secondly, I managed to somehow walk in a huge circle which was ok, but wasted a lot of available time so in the end I walked alongside the river from embankment down the Thames and then up through to Soho.
