1993 is to my DS as 1958 is to me. And that's scary. Watching TOTP

So he's 17. 1993 was 29 years ago.
When I was 17 (1987), 29 years before that was 1958. Which was a long time ago.

We are watching TOTP 1993. That's like me watching TOTP 1958 with my parents.

And now I'm on 1979. Which is basically during WW2.

Don't even know what I am trying to say - except that 1993 doesn't seem too long ago but 1958 would have felt really old to me when I was 17.

it's called ageing.
i'm even older.
it fair gallops along the older you get.
live in the present moment.

Oh don’t. I have adult kids and I have this sort of thinking all the time.

DS is 20, not much younger than when I had him. When I was 20 I thought the seventies were the distant past. For him the NINETIES are the distant past.

It pickles my brain. Like the fact Buffy was about 26 years ago, and Toy Story etc. The passing of time is weird.

I think of WW2. But that ended 25 years before I was born.

That's basically 1980 for DS.

It is ageing but it makes you realise that events that I thought was a long time ago wasn't that long ago in my parent's minds.
