Are after dinner chocolates still a thing? I remember having those Elizabeth Shaw ones after a roast dinner when my gran came round.

Now I want these!! Why don't they make them now?!

I knew I recognized the word but couple picture Mingles, I loved those!

We always have a box of After Eights after Christmas lunch.

We play the game where you have to move one from your forehead to your mouth without touching it (I’m the best at this!) all afternoon whilst slowly getting drunk on Prosecco.

Ive got a few funny Christmas photos where we haven’t realised we’re got melted chocolate smeared over our faces 😄

My brain is desperately trying to remember the Mingles advert but can’t quite get there

Do people do proper dinner parties as much these days? My parents used to have or go to them quite regularly, everyone would dress smartly, lots of velvet dresses, multiple courses, after eights. Quite formal. I’m nearly 30 and my friends would think it was really weird if I made them dress up to come round for dinner.

Turns out there was a reason my brain tried to repress it! Noughties adverts were terrible

A relative (in her 70s) always tells a story of how when she was a girl, her elderly grandmother would devour an entire box of Black Magic after Christmas dinner.

The children in the family would not be permitted to eat any of them - but they were allowed to line up and sniff them Grin

Was her relative Miss Trunchbull?

Definitely still a thing! I love After Eights, and still yearn for the special silver stand for the box.

Mingles were fantastic!
