At a company wide workshop this weekend. We have to introduce ourselves and give an interesting fact about me that no one else will know.

I lead a very boring life and always have done; I didn't do Duke of Edinburgh, I've no Blue Peter Badges, my grandad wasn't a Spitfire pilot, I didn't go out to China and teach for my gap year.

What can I say? I don't mind lying. But would like it to be interesting, and not too far fetched!

I’d say something like you met DH at a hells angels convention.

crosshatching · 09/11/2022 11:00

'I value the individual's right to privacy and think that society coerces us to share far more than we're comfortable with'. Followed by 'I really enjoy awkward silences'.

You aren't looking for a promotion soon are you?

Rowthe · 09/11/2022 11:02

I cant ride a bike.

I can make a lotus shape with my tongue.

Touch nose with tongue.

I used to be used for child labour by my parents.

I will try and think of more.

Rowthe · 09/11/2022 11:03

I know the names of the original 151 pokemon in order.

I love the teddy bear kidnap story 😂

What about something like that from your childhood? Dig deep I’m sure you can find something random from the past

I wasn't a child.

mightarture · 09/11/2022 11:04

I'd like to bet you have something of your own you could tell them, or we could help you embellish?

Do you have any hobbies you were/are interested in or good at?

bigbluebus · 09/11/2022 11:07

Have you ever met any celebrities? Or done anything more outrageous than run through a wheat field? (Even Theresa May struggled with this!)

KitchenSupper · 09/11/2022 11:09

Are you/could you be a supertaster?
Any random genetic things?
Aphantasia?
Personality type?
Rareness of eye colour
Blood group
Never had a parking fine
Or being perfectly average in terms of something (shoe size).

DuncanBiscuits · 09/11/2022 11:09

I can pick things up with my feet.
My second toe is longer than my big toe.
I can raise one eyebrow.
I can do a headstand in yoga.

DuncanBiscuits · 09/11/2022 11:10

(Add your own bodily quirk).

TrashyPanda · 09/11/2022 11:13

You are a descendant of Ghengis Khan

Rowthe · 09/11/2022 11:18

I once missed seeing Princess Diana.

It was my brothers fault.

All the kids from school had been given the afternoon off and were lining the streets. We had a really good spot. But it was a bit cold.

I was wearing my jacket but my brother hadnt brought his. So my mum took mine off to give it to him. Within a few minutes I was feeling freezing cold, so had to trudge off home. I did see her black shiny car drive past.

erinaceus · 09/11/2022 11:51

I once met/saw [celebrity, no matter how minor, insert how they are known if no-one would know who they are] in [context]. (For brownie points insert what you observed about said celebrity.)

My photo was in the local paper because [reason] / I was on television / local radio for [reason].

sashh · 09/11/2022 10:12

Yay.

I bet you will start other people looking at their licences.

I have fklnpq on mine. 🤔

I bought my first car from.....

When I was nine I found a bird egg in my garden and a blackbird was my best friend.

I worked as a waitress/in a shoe shop and Luke Goss came in and asked me out for dinner.

Rather randomly, I bought my first car off Ken Clarkes brother.

You once won an egg/pork pie/sausage eating competition?

you travel to Ashbourne to watch the Shrovetide “match” whenever you can get those days off.

you like to whittle spoons to relax

You once did a marathon movie session and watched all the insert whatever movie series in one 24/48 hour period.

FatToFitPart3 · 09/11/2022 12:17

As in he was then a used car sales man, not his personal car.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 09/11/2022 13:31

Are you a twin? Have lots of siblings? Born overseas? Play an instrument? Married your childhood sweetheart at 16? Passed your driving test first go? Cool an amazing curry? Rescued a pet? Have an odd middle name?

These things don't have to be amazing. Just things your colleagues won't know.

HangerLaneGyratorySystem · 09/11/2022 13:48

We did this at work one year it was hilarious. One quiet and reserved colleague (teacher/youth worker) in her 60s revealed she'd previously been employed as a stunt rider on a wall of death at a fairground. Sort of conversation killer though, I mean beat that!

"I could tell you but I'd have to kill you"

This. 😄

Wheelyweddingwipedout · 09/11/2022 13:54

You can borrow mine if you like OP - I’m a chimera, so I have two sets of DNA

PauliString · 09/11/2022 13:56

I have synaesthesia (this is true).

I once tried to get down off a roof and ended up in a stranger’s bathroom while they were using it (sadly this is also true).

TwoRockSalmonAndAHaporthOfChips · 09/11/2022 14:00

Do you have a collection of anything (for these purposes, I would define a collection as ‘more than one of anything’) - ceramic pigs, mugs with your initial on them, antique thimbles - anything really.

WishfulWanda · 09/11/2022 14:12

What if someone on here is from the company and recognises you? 😬

AlwaysFoldingWashing · 09/11/2022 14:26

The weirdest one of these I've ever heard was the guy I used to work with declaring to everyone that he had webbed feet 😂

Latenightreader · 09/11/2022 14:31

I have used the following:

I was a professional Elf for eight years (seasonal)
I represented my school at the 1500m and throwing the discus.
I have made bacon sandwiches for three of the Coronation Street cast and a quarter of Elbow.
I played Scrooge in a school play (I'm female so this confuses people!)

Have you ever made a cup of tea for someone famous?
